Will a 120hz tv really make a huge difference for gaming?

Have an XBox Series X. Playing on a 55 inch 4k 60hz Samsung. Way too big. Want to downsize to 43 inch, but can't decide if I should just spend more for 120hz models. Will it really matter? Any thoughts?

the 60 to 120 hz probably wont matter as much as certain features/specs like input delay, vrr, hdr, hdmi2.1, game mode type settings.

it wont REALLY matter, but go for the 120hz if its not at the expense of the other features/specs. might as well max out specs of your tv to what your series x can push.

I don't think the difference would be extremely noticeable on a TV. However, it is noticeable on a gaming monitor. If you have any space for a dedicated gaming monitor, go that route.

What games do you play? It really matters the most in FPS titles in which you should be on a monitor

IMO you want less input lag if you are playing the first person shooters.

But you can find 120hz with vrr and low response time.

Differences in resolution and pixel density are less noticeable on a TV that you plan to sit a "normal" distance from. Differences in refresh rate are equally noticeable, in my opinion.

This is all personal choice. I'm sitting 2 ft from a 48" LG OLED monitor and wouldn't mind a bigger one. You are wanting smaller, we are both right.

I would say the 120hz would definitely matter since I play FPS and fast action games. If you play Cities Skyline etc. it won't matter.

I would recommend buying the 120hz and trying it out to see if you notice a difference. If not return it. All that matters is you like it.

I have a 144Hz computer monitor, and it's absolutely noticeable. That said, you need the hardware to run games higher than 60 FPS which consoles aren't going to do for most games.

May just be my imagination, but it feels like 60 FPS feels worse on a higher refresh rate monitor.
