What's a good download speed for PS3/PS4?

Every device I've done a speed test on, I'm getting 900 Mbps+ on my download and almost 900Mbps upload. My PS3 and PS4 get at best 29 Mbps download and almost 10 Mbps upload. This can't be right can it? I even put the Ethernet cable directly into the wall port and used a LAN line to the PS4 and only got around 40Mbps. Anyone else having this issue?

Do you have some type of fiber connection? Those speeds are ridiculous.

I upgraded to some kind of Gig service through Eatel and the speeds are awesome, except on the PlayStation. I don't play online games or anything, just download movies and stuff from the PlayStation Network and it's always slow and buffers during the movie.

Now I'm getting 44 Mbps download and only 5.3 Mbps upload on the PS4. No idea what the problem is. Guess I'll call Sony and see if there is something else I can do to increase speeds.

I don't think more than 25 mbps is necessary if you're the only one using the network.
I use 15, but it bogs down a bit when my GF is on Netflix at the same time.

Think this is pretty close to the cap for PS4 servers. I used to only get 25/5 at and around launch but now get 45/5. Haven't turned on the PS4 in months so really can't say.

its capped on ps4. you'll never get higher than mid 40s on ps4, but on xbox i can get up to 100+ on download speeds.

I'm paying a premium for fast internet, wanted to make sure I was getting what I was paying for on all systems. Thanks for the info guys, I had no idea PlayStation capped it.
