Finally picked up a console again after a long time as a member of the Master Race. Folks on here wouldn't shut up about the Last of Us so I went back to PS for the first time since the PS2. As part of the package, I got Uncharted 4. Enjoyed the hell out of Last of Us. Wasn't too keen on playing Uncharted 4. Haven't been a huge fan of Action Adventure games because a million years ago when I played them, the mechanics sucked.

Well, I got bored so I popped in Uncharted 4 and damn, that was a fun ride. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed by the graphics along with the game play mechanics. The game really did look fantastic.

I didn't want the ride to stop, so I picked up 1-3 for 20 bucks. I will be done with 3 by the end of the weekend. I enjoyed 1 although it was more than a bit difficult to go back in time to when the mechanics weren't as smooth as they are in 4. 2 was lots of fun and 3 has been great so far.

Long winded expo over...

What other games in the genre are must play?

man, i just did not like those games. i beat the first in like 4.5 hours, swear to god. there was just nothing to them.

4 was better because it had little mini-sandbox encounters with strategic freedom, but the first 3 just felt so dated.

honestly was probably spoiled after playing Last of Us before them and expected a similar, profound experience

1 was old, so I didn't judge it too harshly. 2 was a great leap over the first one. 3 seems to be very similar to 2.

4 was a leap in graphics over 3. Just wasn't expecting a console game to look as good as 4 looked. Plus I had fun.

One huge negative: the worthless treasure. I know this isn't an RPG, but no way I am going to look all over the place for 100% meaningless crap.

Since I mainly play RPGs, I'm used to being an overpowered god by the endgame. The endless fights felt endless because you don't ever get a leg up on the bad guys.

I did hate the F out of that sword fight at the end of 4.

Troll answer = Breath of the wild has a lot of climbing

Real Answer = You can get 1-3 for like 20 bucks as a download and play them all. I would suggest doing so, they are all great games, although 1 hasnt aged as well.

Did you not read any of the OPs post?

I can't give any advice here as I hate the series. IMO it is what is wrong with gaming and help ruin AAA with its success.

Tomb Raider (2013) and Rise of the Tomb Raider are probably the most similar to the Uncharted Series.

Expound on this. It makes no sense to me. A game with great graphics and a nice story somehow is ruining gaming?

Online Multi bullshite first person shooters are more to blame for crappy games than anything and hell if you want to blame a single game for the mess, it can be laid at the feet of World of Warcraft. Everyone wants a piece of that online cash and most are too lazy to actually put out a fully developed game so we get piles of online sandbox shooters with no real story or campaign.

Those are far more egregious than Unchartered.

enslaved odyssey to the west is another little gem that feels, in a lot of ways, like an Uncharted clone. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would though.

I just finished the order 1886 and it wasn't that bad. More like a movie than a game. Alot like Uncharted to me (3rd person, good story, great grapics). Red dead is a good one too and the sequel comes out this year.

Is tomb raider 3rd person? I can't play 1st, makes me ill..

The Order 1886 needs a sequel. It has the potential to be a very good game. I would gladly take a graphics downgrade if it meant I had the benefit of full screen instead of forced letterbox.

The Order is also really dark. I had to turn out all the lights to see what was going on. The end was kind of anticlimactic too. But it was fun getting to it. Is there a sequel planned?

I'll have to check out tomb raider if it is really that good..

I doubt it. I was a commercial flop for Sony.

The games are good. Just don't expect the characters to be as memorable or the storyline to be as interesting. Neither game is big on historical accuracy, but Uncharted's world is much more fleshed out. Tomb Raider is more "video game"-y in it's presentation.

Meh, the stories in both games are shitty. I just enjoyed TR's mechanics more

They are good but probably just skip to the second one, Rise of the Tomb Raider. I haven't finished it yet but it's apparently more of the first one.

it's actually more open world...a linear action adventure game with open world design...I didn't like it

if it were one or the other fine, but it just didn't mesh.

Cmon man. Uncharted's story was pretty solid compared to other video games.
