played a match just before lunch on my PS5. i don't know if it's because i'm mostly accustomed to m/kb now, but i was getting wrecked. some of the gunfights didn't seem fair.

everyone else were pillows


i was using the default M4A1 though.

it played smooth though. almost like i was skating. if you've played enough CoD like i have, it can be a bit distracting when you're used to a certain animation.


CoD killer? meh.

i thought Shatterline had potential, but i don't think it got popular enough. mostly because it was PC only (Steam). it plays just like this game and CoD.

despite my hyping it up, i haven’t played more than about 1.5-2 hours of the BETA. Neighborhood/Town got hit by a tornado Wednesday night at the start of the 9th inning….sigh

got power back last night. internet supposedly should also be back on now. some roof damage but we good.

from everything i’ve read online, those going in with the understanding that this is a BETA. And not a major studio, soft/pre launch calling itself a “BETA”, but an actual BETA. And the the fact it does not and will not include a battle royale mode. Those folks seem to think the game shows promise for the actual fans of 6v6 arena shooters where skill is required.

I’d like to see them tone down the abilities timing wise. It shouldn’t reset every death and i shouldn’t get to pop it every minute. too much. I’d also suggest that when the actual launch hits, it includes Ranked playlists from Day 1.

I like the gunplay. Like the game modes. I like the gun/damage stats that COD hides. And I love the transparency from the Devs on what they are implementing/fixing.

I know i upset the Warzone baws suggesting it maybe a COD killer in the title. Maybe it isn’t, but i’d love to see them carve off a couple percentage points from that juggernaut. And judging by the Activion / Modern Warfare twitter posts this week…..there are 2 reply types and a frick ton of them:

1) Leave the kids alone
2) No Thanks. Playing the XDefiant BETA.

people want a COD alternative. it’ll happen sooner or later. they’ve spread themselves too thin. They are now that restaurant with a 8 page laminated menu that’s a bit sticky and all the food sucks. That’s COD now.

That menu has already turned me off from this. Your multi colored hair is dumb.
