My favorite Rainbow Six game was Ravenshield on PC. Is it like that? If so, I'd buy with a quickness.

There are 3 different game modes but they are all essentially the same
TD-Bomb
TD-Hostage
TD-Secure or whatever it's called
It's an awesome game if you have a few buddies to squad up with but I wouldn't recommend trying to play it alone

This game is absolutely fricking amazing. If Counter Strike were to upgrade their graphics and put in a few weapon mods/tactical abilities it would be Rainbow Six: Siege. At first I was skeptical about the game and the longevity of it, but after playing it just about all weekend, I can now see the light and it is glorious.

I played the closed beta and actually cancelled my pre-order because I just could not get into it. I gave the open beta a shot and liked it a little more. I bought the full game and I'm enjoying it a lot. Even the single player situations which I thought would suck are pretty fun. I hope they release some more Co-Op situations like the Article 5 mission. I think that would please lot lot of people complaining about the lack of campaign.

I'm at work looking at windows and doors wanting to board them up or finding holes where my drone can spot the targets.

No doubt, especially once you get to ranked matches the games last forever sometimes 30 minutes

I don't find the games to last that long even when playing ranked. Instead of race to 3 like casual, it's a race to 4 wins. I've moved up to level 28 now, and my personal rank is a lame and low Silver 2.

All I have played so far is the single player tutorial type missions, but those were pretty fun. Can't wait to try multiplayer later.

Mute and Fuze (unless hostage. i have seen a ton of people kill the hostage with Fuze) i also like the shields...

Shields are OP as hell. I have pretty much switched to nothing but shotgun classes though. Everything is so CQB that using anything else puts you at an extreme disadvantage.

The last rainbow 6 game I played was on N64. I've played most of the COD games but have been thinking about getting this. Would I get absolutely wrecked? I'd be playing mostly by myself.

Not really. You just have to slow down your playing style. Take your time, check every corner, follow reliable teammates.
You'll get some 5-6 kill games and a lot of 0-1 kill games.

Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 were two of my favorite games.
Siege is heading in that direction. I hope they fix the server issues soon. Game is really fun if you have a squad of friends that are all pretty good. I can see how it can be boring for people that play alone.
Excited that it came with digital copies of Vegas 1 and 2. Going to be hoping on those soon.

We only play ranked but I don't think we've lost more than 5 games when my whole squad is there
