quote:C9 is completely American, Dyrus is from Hawaii, WildTurtle is Canadian, Santorin and Bjergsen are Danish, and Lustboy is Korean.
So basically when it comes to LoL, it's a lot like all of our other sports, it's an American team, but 90% of the players aren't actually from America?

Just want to talk about TSM's comp a bit, it would have been horrible if WE could have stalled to late game, but that Lulu/Kennen combo was nasty. Dyrus flashes in and ults, gets lulu ulted, then zhonyas if he needs to. Lulu ult is just so damn good in any situation.

so... basically the team that got shut down and destroyed... is the team that's all American
ETA: Only slightly kidding anyways... I know LoL is still fairly new in NA, and "team work" games aren't exactly our forte

Well American teams have had the EU number for awhile.

To be fair, most major American sports are compromised of a majority of Americans, or at least North Americans if you include hockey. Foreign nationals are not represented well in the NFL. The NBA has some foreign players as well as MLB, but those players are mainly from Latin America.
But yes, people from other countries play in league other that that of their own native lands.

woot, as a newb to all of this, by making my statements I have really learned a lot...
so what is the answer for C9 since they have had such a huge drop-off? Since now it appears that they aren't even the 2nd best NA team? :/

quote:I think that's part of it. NA didn't accept e-sports as readily as other countries. Korea has been the e-sport domain for almost a decade. They treat their e-sport players like we treat our NBA/NFL players. The scene is growing and last year's world championship being on ESPN3 is a step in the right direction, though. It's starting to come around. Being a pro gamer is actually lucrative in this country now. I expect things will improve domestically.

Meh, TSM was founded with all NA members and had nothing but NA players until Season 4. American brand. I say they still count.

"Hey Look, it's a Baron, Let's Kill it!"
5 seconds later
"frick, what are we doing?!"
ETA: 2 Kills and a Tower for a dragon... not a bad trade-off
