Thinking of trying Guild Wars 2, anyone like it?

What's the general feed back on it? I enjoyed Wow, Black Desert is alright, but seem a bit tedious. I enjoy the fact that GW2 was made by AMerican in AMerica.
So which of the two would ya preferred?

If you think black desert is tedious, then just forget that you ever considered playing GW2

The leveling up in gw2 was a great experience. Really well done environment.
I hear the endgame is good.
Solid mmorpg imo. I liked it and would recommend it. I have no experience with BDO but it seems like the new hotness.

The world is really cool and combat is neat. At the same time though I got a late start and the world was pretty empty by the time I was there.
I've heard they butchered the end game recently but don't know enough to comment with a lot of authority on that.

I played it over a year ago, at that time there was no end game content to speak of... world bosses spawned at set intervals and large groups of random people would wait to button mash them to death with no real strategy. Once dead they dropped skins for items that made your character no more powerful than it was before.

Some people have said they turned it more into an instance based thing on the PvE and PvP side. People wanted more open world, massive mob of people stuff and instead got kind of a wow retread with arenas and dungeons.
Again though I haven't been there so I don't know how true it is. If you are just looking to waste some time leveling characters, the world there feels absolutely alive and interactive in a way WoW doesn't.

I really enjoyed it at release but at the level cap there wasn't anything to do. The crafting can get confusing as hell though. I still fire it up for a month or so once a year.

Only a little bit in but I think GW2 is more up my alley than black desert

The camera is aggravating me. I'm a thief and I'm jumping around a bit, is there a way to auto select new targets or move camera around quickly to new target. I've tried action camera mode and thats a bit easier but not without its problems.
ETA. There is this one move I jump over someone and spin around and then it repositions my camera. Just annoying

I enjoyed the leveling experience. Kind of stopped playing after a few days of max level.
Need to pick it up and play a little more though. I havent tried a few classes.

95 days of logged play time?
That's just under 2 hours a day every day since release.

Your math was way off at first lol

With that said I have played 945h on Destiny before I stopped. And GW2 has been out long before that.

I played since launch, which was almost 4 years ago. I currently have 2,271 hours 50 minutes over the past 1,326 days.
I really enjoy the game, what can I say. Also, thats nothing, I have some people on my friends lists with like 7k hours logged...I think someone reached 10k (not on my friends list). Compared to most of the veterans that play now a days, I think the majority are hitting like 6-7k which is nothing compared to my little 2.2k.

I wish I could find a MMO that I can get into at release that keeps me invested for that long, once you stop playing catching up with the changes is almost impossible. I have logged about 300 days in EQ over the years and still play it to this day, but the fun of the old community is gone.

I tried Project 99 but that one is a bit too old school even for me (I started in 2003). Couldn't believe there were no maps
I would love to play an old school group-centric MMO like EverQuest or FFXI again, but those just don't exist anymore.
I still have a soft spot for WoW though. It's never too hard to catch up no matter how long I go without playing. I'll probably pick it up again for a couple months once Legion comes out.

GW2 was a lot of fun, we had a TD guild and a pretty good active crew that played. I may redownload it.

Is there a way to download the game if I have already purchased it? I lost the actual CD for the game and don't want to purchase the game again. TIA
