Right when I spawned in it was night and there was an enderman among other evil creatures lurking.

Lol yea I came up the ladder from the mine and there was a big arse hole in the house. Was like wtf 
Took a couple seconds to patch it, will fully repair it when I have more time to play.

So I definitely ran a bit away from the spawn point. Wondering if I'll ever run into anyone lol.
I'm close to finishing up the beginnings of my house. Still need to build a farm. Constantly running low on food and living off of mushroom soup right now.

The house I built by the Spawn area is kind of a community house. Anybody can add to it.
Gonna build a personal house somewhere else
Just got through building the mine in the community house down to bedrock. Ran through some lava near the bottom. Put up signs so we don't forget where it is

Just so everyone's on the same page...
When you go into a cave system put torches on the right side so they'll be on the left when you're trying to leave.
Found a cave system halfway down the mineshaft at the community house. Put a door up while digging and just got through exploring a good portion of it. All the torches are on the right side going in.

I made it in the Nether but am getting wrecked by everything in there.
I'm decided to take a break least night when I ran out of food and got down to half a heart and I'm forever away from my portal.

Okay wait....lol.
How did you find/create or even manage to open a nether portal after the world being up one day?
