Beta means the game is not released but they accept a couple hundred/thousand early gamers to test the system and find bugs.

I wouldn't either. I checked my email history and I have been signed up for the SWTOR beta since 10/1/09 which was the first day signing up was possible. I'm still waiting...

"When does testing begin?
A date for the commencement of testing has not been finalized. Once we feel that we are ready for testers, we will contact the selected applicants via email with further instructions."

Let me know how it is. I know a guy who has an inside track in the gaming industry and he said this game looks like it may tank. There is nothing new at all, basically they put a WOW type game in a star wars universe. I still wanna give it a shot though bc a WOW game in a star wars universe sounds like it could be cool for a while.

Fact. Every successful MMO that comes out will be a "WoW-type game". WoW is just an "Everquest-type game". Also, there is not nearly enough information out about it right now for anyone to know whether the game is likely to tank.

I don't disagree. I was just going off what I've been told from a guy that knows alot about the behind the scenes stuff.

Gonna probably be the largest MMORPG to date. For example one of the planets Alderaan, is somewhere around 7-8 wow zones in size. So far, I think there have been like 17 planets announced. Just seems like a massive game and I just think it's going to rock.

I haven't gotten to play today. I left my laptop downloading the game and forgot to change my power settings so it went to sleep. The client portion is over 16GB so it's taking FOREVER to download.
Hopefully I'll get in game tomorrow and give you guys some screenshots and what not.
