Switching to PC gaming hasn't worked out for me.

A few years back when my 360 died, I decided to join the master race and got myself a kick arse PC. Overclocked, steam, origin, and every game under the sun. I emptied my wallet during the summer sales and I have tons of games.
Only one problem, I almost never play anymore. I didn't realize that the vast majority of my time playing is 20 min here, 1 hour there, sitting on my couch with my dog. I squeezed in time playing skyrim while the wife ran an errand, or while I was waiting for her to get ready to go out.
With the future ghost recon, read dead 2, and now battlefield one, I'm thinking about getting the new xbox one S - I will surely play more.
Help...

hook ur pc up to ur tv and get a console controller?
me and my buddies have found ourselves playing more and more pc games on the couch lately. lot of good 4 player local multiplayer indy games on steam.
also play skyrim, fallout 4, dark souls, and the witcher 3 with a controller exclusively on pc

Use your old 360 controller and buy a dongle or a new XBONE with dongle.

Except for console exclusive there isn't much you can't do on your PC that you can on your console. Given the situation your describe I wouldn't sink money into upgrading your PC though. Sometimes a console is the best answer.

But she will allow a console?

I've already decided I'm going back to the console. It's the ease of access - power on and I'm gaming.
If it were just me living here then I'd be running my PC on my main TV but my wife runs the real estate inside of our apartment.

xbox one s will easily sit on the small shelf beneath the TV. My PC case is massive.

i mean the steamlink is a lot smaller than a console
i have steamlink and ps4 but if i had already invested that much in my pc i probably wouldnt buy a console.
i use ps4 sometimes only because most of my friends are on there and my pc couldnt handle battlefield one anyway

I have one too, don't need to use it much since I am single, but it doesn't seem to have caught on. Hardwired it's great but wifi seems to be a problem.

how is the steamlink performance? I heard it had a lot of issues at launch.

You can add anything you can launch from your PC it's great for what I use it for. Launch VLC and watch movies, etc...

my network latency to steamlink from pc averages around 6ms, i'm not a huge competitive FPS player so it doesnt affect me

Either get Steam Link or build you a HTPC.

Move console to living room.
Get wireless keyboard and mouse.

If you are going to buy a console, wait for Scorpio.
