Stupid unnecessary things built into Madden that piss you off

My top 3:

1. Worthless cut screens that force me to push A to skip between plays and timeouts. Who wants to watch a CGI coach clap? Or a slow motion replay of a 5 yard catch on second and 10? Why is that even in the game. Is there an option to disable this? Why doesn't play selection just come up automatically after every play?

2. Pressing A is not necessary after every play it's random and it also selects plays, so if you press A to skip the cut scene and the cut scene didn't play you auto select a play you didn't want. A simple fix would have been to make the skip button not also a play select button.

3. Challenged plays that are clearly a mistake. Why did they build into the game a call of a completed pass when he clearly caught it out of bounds and the booth immediately reviews it and turns it over?

If it's in the game, it's in the game.

I personally hate the X A Y user decision when catching the football (and when running).

^ Half the time it doesn't let me choose what I want, sometimes it will auto choose aggressive catch when my receiver is running wide fricking open down the sideline. Sometimes when I just want the first on a precarious situation, I can't possessive catch because it thinks I should RAC. Very frustrating.

Franchise mode still fricking sucks.i It would be nice to have the commish to have complete control over the league (because things always go wrong).

I do like the unreliable saving of a game when your internet cuts out or ea servers go down in franchise mode.

But the most frustrating thing is lineman not blocking the right guy. Pretty much any play to the outside the linemen go straight up retard and just run down field and not even attempt to block anyone. Like they are stuck in the sprint animation and they don't give a damn

"And the offense will take over with the score 7-0"

Score is 31-24 or something.

This is infuriating as well.

1. YES.
2. YES. Every time I play I have at least 3 playcalls wasted because of this
3. It's been a while since I've played competitively, but I know Madden used to suck as far as not being able to challenge the correct thing. For instance, I want to challenge that a receiver was out of bounds, but the only option is to challenge the spot. Don't know if that's improved, but it was a completely useless feature for a while.

I'll add that I've never liked Madden's player progression compared to NCAAs. First, it seemed like rookies were never very good and it took way too many seasons to improve them. I would lose interest in the franchise before any of them were decent. Also, I'm personally not a fan of having to do drills or go thru a bunch of training that improves 1 tiny insignificant stat EVERY week. It is way too tedious for what little improvement you get. Again, don't know if this has been improved in the last couple installments.

Old glitch, but in 07 or 08, if you used a custom playbook, you would force the CPU to punt and then the CPU would come back onto the field on offense where the punt ended.

I've also seen a glitch in Madden 07 where the Saints played a home game in Seattle and wore Washington's uniforms.

I always found this funny. Like it is testing the user and making sure they are paying attention. Should be no need for them.

4) Receivers inexplicably dropping wide open passes constantly.
Has been an issue since madden moved over to current gen. I thought they'd fix it after their first game in Xbone. But if anything, it's gotten worse

5) Not just madden, but any game.
If you're blowing an opponent out, you deserve to pound them with no mercy. But I find that Madden and 2k have some form of a comeback system that makes your AI players start making mistakes to allow the other team to catch up. Idk if it's something that's implemented or not, but it sure as hell feels like it.

Bonus:
I was lining up for an onside kick. My kicker ran 5 yards past the ball and did the kick animation. The ball (still on the tee) flew straight into one of my players hands.
I recorded it. I paused the game to let a little rage out. And whenever it came back on, I got a sack that forced a fumble. The ball was rolling towards my endzone and I had nothing but green in front of me. Time expired right as my linebacker picked the ball up. Only to drop on top of the ball instead of picking it up and running.

And don't even get me started on playing in the snow. My QB slipped 90% of the times I dropped back. And I'm not talking about he just kinda got tripped up and recovered. I mean he slipped to where my passing icons disappeared for a couple seconds while he recovered. Meanwhile, the other team had 0 problems with the snow.

Haven't played Madden since and I'll probably skip out on Madden 18.
It's becoming like Call of Duty with the same recycled bullshite every year.

The challenge system has always been mostly broken in both NCAA and Madden

On basic things it works pretty well such as fumbles but a lot of times it doesn't allow you to challenge what you want and many times it won't let you challenge when you should be able to (my biggest beef)

When playing in a laggy game online and you tap X to snap it and nothing happens so you tap it again only to have your QB throw a pop fly to the defense.

Diving and immediately fumbling the ball

Having 5 of your players around a loose ball doing every possible animation in the game for about 5 seconds to recover a fumble and 1 player from the other team comes out of nowhere to fall on it.

EA will introduce the PAT-commercial-kickoff-commercial in Madden '18. Unskippable.

People will still line up to buy it, too.

I still play NCAA 14 on 360 sometimes and there's a glitch where occasionally the center will run with the ball without snapping it.

This is in your head. Though in 2k I beilieve there is some momentum formula worked into the game. I got burned a few times by not taking a timeout to regroup trying to play through my opponent's comeback only to end up losing. That was 2k16 and I've wisened up since though.

This upsets me so much. It takes the defense like 6 guys to recover a fumble that isn't just laying there. Then an offensive lineman jumps in there and picks it then runs it for five yards. I'm usually raging because I had a clear scoop and score.

This drove me nuts. I think it's because I'm holding the turbo button by reflex when I go to catch the ball. If I don't hold it, they catch it way more often.

But what gets me more than that is when a receiver is running a crossing route wide open and will drop to a knee to catch the ball instead of catching it in stride.
