Stealing home in RTTS on a LH pitcher

Is this possible? I was in a position to do this last night, but couldn't risk it. My guy is fast enough to steal in general, but not sure if the game will allow u to start stealing before pitcher makes his delivery and the pitcher not realize ur stealing

The pitcher will always step off if you try to run before he goes into his delivery animation. Always.

I actually did this just today on a whim (I never try to steal home but we had a 5 run lead) and it worked. It was a LH pitcher and a LH hitter. I couldn't tell you what I did, but my guy got there and scored.
