I swear some of you live just to put down other peoples stuff. It's like your PC e-peen grows a little because you spent more money than others on your PC.
I find it hard to believe he can't get a top of the line PC for $2k but you want to find any reason to knock someone down a notch because heaven forbid someone potentially out build your rig. The horror!

I mean shite like that is why people hate PC gamers. It's fun to rib about the master race and stuff but some people here sincerely think it's a competition to outspend one another. Guess it validates them in some sort of way.
The OP didn't come in and say I want to out Benchmark Coyotes $5K rig. He said I want to game at max settings. A 7970 or 680 will easily do that on 1080P and that sort of build can easily be had for under $2K but for some reason some here take every chance they have to whip out their little e-peen.

That's not it at all. Perhaps when you and I see top notch we think differently. I think for $2k you can get a mid/high end machine that will do everything necessary to game without issues. To me top notch is the latest and greatest. I could care less if he builds a machine that is "better" than what I have. I do it for my own enjoyment, not to impress others.
Most people come here and ask for the best without a clue as to what the best costs. They think $2k will get the best of everything which it doesn't.
BTW, what crawled up your craw today? I'm generally helpful when I post here.

The only thing that bugs me about the Master Race thing is it pretty much fills the board now. It's all "grade my build" and "help me with a build" threads, which in and of themselves don't bother me, it's just that the actual video game talk is getting less and less and it's becoming more of a tech board now.

Generally you are and you are one of the few I trust PC opinions from. You, Blue, ILikeLSUtoo, Coyote (though his fanboyism for certain things gets in the way sometimes), etc but at times some of you vere more into being a little condescending. It happens we are all human but it seems like some of you have been laying it on extra thick lately.

No. The console or multi platform threads outnumber the PC threads. The other day someone was saying the same thing as you and only 4 threads out of 20 on the front page were PC only threads.
It seems like they outnumber because they are generally more active due to people helping. A console thread about a game seems to get a page or two and it's dead but they still greatly outnumber the amount of PC threads.
ETA 5 out of 20 right now are about PCs or PC game only related.

VA, it's all good. Just help the guy next time instead of dumping on his budget. You and I know $2K is a good budget for a great gaming PC.

My first one 8/9 months ago was $600 because I only wanted to play DayZ at the time and thought I wouldn't play much else on it. I have since spent at least twice that in upgrades. The only original part I have left is some ram and my CPU cooler.

1330, bf acreed hitman...anything I ask it to. I sit at a solid 60. I recognize my resolution could be considered low but I also stream.
