quote:Well, I don't own a Wii U. I was hoping it was going to be a multiplatform release.
people always bitch that Nintendo systems lack exclusives hardcore gamers want other than Nintendo games and then when Nintendo ponies up to get one it turns to complaints that its exclusive to a Nintendo system?
Not sure what is funny.
It is one of the few reasons why I might purchase a Wii U though, along with the upcoming Zelda game, but I just wish I didn't have to buy a console to play the sequel to one of my favorite games.
I will say though, it is thanks to Nintendo that Bayonetta even got a sequel.

I just found it funny b/c that is always the big complaint about Nintendo systems going back to the N64. Whatever the system is it gets crapped on for being a Nintendo machine yet when it gets exclusive games the complaints still come. I also thought it was funny when Gamecube originally had Resident Evil 4 as an exclusive too.
But I just got a nut shot for my giggles.
I called up the 3 different Sam's Clubs here in Dallas. The first two said they didn't have the Wii U at all. The third tells me not only do they have two, but they only have the Wii U starter kit and its just $79.99. I asked the guy on the phone twice if he was sure it was the Wii U console he was talking about. He says "Yes sir, the Wii U console. $79.99 and we have two left."
I figure he must be talking about the discontinued 8 gig WiiU and since it can use an external hard drive anyway the price it worth it. I ask my boss to borrow his Sam's card and for an hour off to go get it since I have no work left to do. He glared at me a bit when I explained it was to get a video game console but at least understood that the deal was too good to pass up. I drove the 20 minutes down, get to the store, and suddenly nobody knows what I am talking about.
I get funneled through 4 different people, they go hunting in their storage closets for it, and 45 minutes later they all come back to me and for about the 10th time ask what I was looking for.
Finally, one has the idea to look up WiiU prices and we discover the initial person I talked to quoted me the price for the Skylanders WiiU starter kit.
So I missed over an hour and a half of work, probably owe my boss a favor b/c of it, and came back empty handed.

Not shocking about sams club at all

If the first one was on the Wii, there wouldn't have been any backlash. Since nearly all Bayonetta fans have no desire to buy a Wii U, backlash ensued.

Final Fantasy was always on Nintendo systems until it moved to Sony
Exclusives jumping system to system isn't new.

Yes and there was backlash then. The issue was far more Nintendo's fault not working with Square + Sony's willingness to help them grow the series in the West.

nah
the issue was Nintendo was sticking with proprietary carts companies had to purchase from them to put games on while the PS was on far cheaper to print CDs (that also had more memory)
this is also why the Gamecube was somewhat shunned by certain companies with their small discs/

And those carts didn't have enough space to hold the FMVs that Square was introducing with FF7.
That + Sony agreeing to publish the game in the West. They actually advertised it and made it the biggest Japanese RPG in the West at that time.
Edit: I called all of the Sams near me. None are carrying any Wii Us.
