SLI Problem...Need help

So I just got my second 970 and I installed it along with the SLI bridge the. Wiped and reinstalled my drivers and enabled SLI. When I launch a game with SLI enabled it either flickers badly or crashed. I made sure the card were seated properly then tried again, no cigar, swapped the cards, still no luck. I ran each card individually I'm both slots on the mobo both worked fine on their own. I'm not sure what my problem is, but I think my SLI bridge could be bad. Any info would be appreciated. If it is the bridge can I pick one up locally in Baton Rouge or do I have to order it online.

Your best bet to get one locally is to call local computer repair shops and see if they have any spares laying around. The bridges come with any SLI-capable mobo. Repair shops should have bins of unused cables and accessories that ship with various hardware, so they might be willing to part with one for cheap or even free.

Could this be a driver issue. Or do you think it's mos likely the bridge

Since I've never encountered the issue, I don't know. Although flickering is usually indicative of a game not properly supporting SLI, it could very well be a driver or hardware problem if it's happening in every game (or crashing).
If a driver reinstall doesn't work, it's more than likely a hardware problem, which can include anything from the SLI bridge to a bad PCIe slot or inadequate power. The bridge would be the easiest first test.

Ok so I have somewhat of a solution. Games only flicker when in full screen. In windowed mode or border less windowed they work perfectly fine? Any idea why?

Probably because SLI isn't working in windowed mode. Check your GPU usage while gaming in windowed mode.

It's working i windowed mode. I checked on afterburner.

With one card on dying light I get 60-70 FPS in SLI windowed I get 120-130. So it's working. Just don't understand y It won't work in full screen.

Pity PCI slots work with both cards individually so it not the card or the mobo. So it's either power supply l, bridge, or software issue. My power supply is almost brand new just got to in December it's the corsair cx 750 m so it should be plenty. I have a friend with an identical setup and his work perfectly

cant be the PSU if SLI is working in windowed. Sounding more software now... Wiped drivers and reinstalled?

Yes three times. Even did a reinstall of windows. I just dont know what to do only thing I haven't tried is another bridge I'm picking one up Tommorrow. I know your one of the most knowledgeable guys on here. So I appreciate the advice. But I've researched and tried everything. It's just so puzzling.

Yeah, this one is new to me. You've tried all the standard stuff, other than the bridge. If a new bridge doesn't work, the next thing, if at all possible, would be to get an entirely different set of video cards to try in SLI, as well as try your cards in another system. You said your friend has an identical setup, so that would be convenient if he lives close by.

Well he lives in Seattle we are gaming buddies. But just got new bridges on the way home to test them I'll post results

Have you tried using another driver? Could possibly be a finicky driver if you're using a new beta driver or something.
Edit: didn't see your last post. Glad you got it working.
