Will they mess it up or can they do what resident evil 2 remake did and recapture the original game with new aspects?

Bloober Team is a shite dev. If it turns out well, I'll be absolutely shocked

I also heard that they were trying to stop making psychological horror too. That could be a disaster as (spoiler) all of this is in James manifestations.

I don't have much confidence in these developers to do it right. Their own games have some good atmosphere and clever ideas in places but weak writing and annoying mechanics.

So wouldn't you have more confidence in them being able to produce a good remake because they can use their atmosphere and ideas and apply them to a story and mechanics that are already in place?

I'm cautiously optimistic because, for the most part, I actually enjoy Bloober games (I know, unpopular opinion). So I think they can create a good Silent Hill 2 remake because the bones of a great game are already in place.

I liked the first Layers of Fear (the gimmicks and atmosphere, not so much the writing) but didn't care much for the DLC or the sequel.

In Observer I liked the flashback scenes but the rest of the game was a chore to play. Especially those stealth parts.

It's possible that this will be good. I hope it is. This is promising, at least:
