I remember this game being pretty challenging. Grinding it is.

I like fighting those crows. A cookie every time.

It's not the best option but you can play it on a flash snes emulator here: LINK.

As far as I can tell, save states and everything work.

Oh yeah, you have to do plenty of grinding in this game to stay on par with each step of the story.

Never really looked into it because I just like the original. What are some of the better ones?

I honestly don't know, but there are A LOT of them

The last few playthroughs I've done, I really never got bogged down grinding. There are 3 or 4 places where you will get decimated if you don't. I found it best to go ahead and grind early so you won't have to much later on. There are at least 3 places that are hard as shite even if you do grind, don't want to spoil it though.

There are quite a few difficult parts in here, but I definitely found myself grinding probably more than I needed to. I seem to do it with most rpgs.

I do that a lot as well, mostly because I want the upper-hand in most boss battles and know that going in, so I'm fine with spending a little more time doing that than getting my arse kicked 5-6 times by a boss

If that sort of thing happens to me, it's a good chance I'll never pick the game up again. Maybe that is the reason I do all the grinding

That's how I was with Outlast. There was one part I tried some 10 times and could never get past it and just stopped playing it.

Almost did that with Arkham Knight and that last Riddler time trial challenge

I just made it through the first few areas last night. I'm hoping to get a lot of the game played over the extended weekend

Areas as in towns? I am taking my time with this playthrough. Just got to the market and fought you know who in Twoson.

On to one of the most brutal parts of the game if you haven't grinded a little...without spoilers, it's the first place you have to go after you visit Paula's parents..

Well I will have to be honest. I still haven't touched this game since I played the intro.
