How good are these games? I have been watching some of the movies these last few nights and have thought about trying the games out.

Pretty good until RE5. 4 was pretty good, but 5 sucked imo. I liked the remakes for gamecube, but the original one was fricking scary.

They've gradually moved more towards action rather than survival horror, and that is what has ruined the series for me.

Agree on all the games up to RE5, where the meh began.

1,2, and 4 are great. 5 is not as stellar as the others however its accessibility gives it pros the other ones lack.

The movies have almost nothing in common with the games.

Those movies are some of the biggest pieces of garbage cinema I've ever seen. Aside from the very first movie, which was still just ok.

I like the movies and asked this same question before.

It's an awesome movie. I have watched all the five series. Work of Milla Jovovich (Alice) is really appreciable. Waiting for a next series to come...

You can download 4 in HD on XBL or PSN. I think Code Veronica is also available which is fun, but not an upper echelon RE game. 1 and 2 are the best to me, but that's because I grew up with them and nostalgia rules all. 5 is very meh, and 6 (the new one) goes flying off the rails as far as what Resident Evil should be.

1 and 2 have a legit chance of scaring you. They are great. Series pretty much goes downhill except maybe for 4. As far as the movies, I was watching Afterlife last night and that was horrible. I thought the first one was ok for a video game movie. If they would give video game movies a legit shot like super hero movies they might have some money makers on their hands.

No love for RE3? Nemesis (the main boss) would randomly jump out and chase after you pretty much no matter where you were. That scared the living shite out of me on a regular basis

The games have almost nothing to do with the movies.. Now they are trying to bring in all the info from the games to the movies and are jam packing it all in at once..

Would have been a better idea to just redo the movie series IMO.

Haven't played RE 1-3 all the way yet. I have the Anthology pack for RE6 and plan on playing them.

RE4 was one of my favorite PS2 games. I liked the storyline of RE5.

Just finished RE6 co-op online campaign with a friend.. The 3 story lines were solid to me. Only thing was camera angles got me killed a few times, especially in the run away scenarios.

From a quality standpoint, RE4 is probably the best in the series. They had a lot to build on, and I thought RE5 was pretty good, but it was lacking in areas.

IMO, RE4 is the best game on the entire last generation of consoles. RE2 is my favorite in the series though.

I notice RE3 not getting much love, but that was an awesome game. Nemesis could appear anywhere.

5 was dreadful. OMG they're running right at me and then oh they slow down before they get to you.

If you want to play the games then this is the way to do it.

GameCube version of 0&1.
PS1 version of 2&3.
Code Veronica on any system.
GameCube version of 4.
5 & 6 on 360 or PS3.
