ETA Probably the easiest thing for a kid to get in to is Minecraft. Basically legos with really basic graphics.

What.. I played it at that age... could be hats wrong with me..

But yea lego games or solid. My 13 y.o. son plays Command and Conquer all the old versions he loves them..

probably depends on what he's into

They already play Minecraft. Showed them the old standby Pharaoh the other day. They liked that. I'll definitely look into the Lego stuff.

Teach him how to think and be a man and get him starcraft.

Make him train all day and be grandmaster by highschool. It'll put some hair on his young chest.

Civ 4 or 5 would also be a great choice.

Some people will tell you those games are too hard for someone that age but I disagree.

My nephew who is also 10, plays Sid Meier's Railroads a lot

I would recommend both Portal games. You can also co-op with him, good bonding time.
