Looks like it might actually be developed by MLB Advanced Media, someone found this on someone's linkedin page.

He splits his time between granular art direction on games, creative direction for marketing, and management of external creative teams. MLB products to date include multiple undisclosed IP, Home Run Derby 2013, and Franchise MVP. Look for great things in 2014."

given that it was discontinued after only two years for poor sales, I might have been the only one but i was a huge fan of EA sport's NCAA baseball game on xbox. i lost count of how many seasons deep i was playing LSU before my xbox died. only video baseball game i ever got into...may not have been the best but it sure was fun.

I wonder what kind of game it will be. For mobiles and tablets? That might mean it's some kind of Candy Crush occupy five minutes of your time type thing.

That's cool and whatever, but I guess my point is will this be a competitor in the simulation market or just a game for fun?

shite MVP baseball with Manny Ramirez on the cover was amazing. Always did franchise and created my own stadium but could never make it big :(

I hope it's not a sim. Go back to the days where these games were just fun to play. I think there's a market for both.

Wasn't there a blitz style baseball game a while back? A little absurd, but a blast to play.

Their Power Pros game for the PS2 had a good combination of them. Cartoony graphics with the MLB license and was pretty accurate in sim stats.

And The Bigs was a fun game. The NFL killed the Blitz franchise and I think MLB did the same with The Bigs because of trying to keep up an "image".

to me, RBI baseball was the last baseball game that was fun to play. It and the Backyard Baseball series.
I'd lose interest 2 weeks into a baseball simulation game and would never make a console decision based on any sports title. To me, baseball is the most boring sport ever created, right behind soccer.

Wasn't there a NFL Blitz game released in 2012 or 2013?

Did you play it? It was like a G-rated version of the older games

Got ya. I just looked it up. I never played any of the Blitz the League games. Seems similar to the original ones by the looks of it anyways.

Well and rated 10+. I see what you mean.

Never played their baseball game. Tennis was a regular in our N64 rotation.

You might be thinking of MLB Slugfest. That game was fun as hell.

Dropped some quarters on RBI in the late 80s at Time Saver.

Those games were great, but they only scraped the surface of what a college baseball game could've been. The schedules and rosters were all kinds of fricked.

I still pop it in my PS2 from time to time.

As much as I love the shite out of the show, MVP 2005 was the best baseball game ever. Everything about that game was a-fricking-mazing.
