Granted, I didn't get home to actually play it until around 9:00 last night, I started single player, roommate wanted to give co-op a try, so we got that going and played till midnight, then he goes to bed and I play for another hour..............cuz I can't stop

FTR, I was playing it on my PS3 and he was on his PC, and it was incredible that it played so seamlessly between the two platforms. Although, since we didn't want to mess around with PSN's voice chat, we just booted up our 360's and got into a party. Yes, I know. "He's your roommate. Why do you need to voice chat?" It's just easier than yelling across the house.

Does anyone know if the voice chat will work between PC and PS3? He seems skeptical, but I just think that is something they would have accounted for and made possible. Maybe we'll give it a try next time.

Soooooooooooo addictive, everyone. And well written. GLADOS is very pissed at you, and she's not shy about letting you know

And some of the co-op puzzles just blow your mind. Great game.

I was under the assumption that it did. They wouldn't use Portal 2 as THE game to demonstrate cross platform gaming without adding Mic support. The amount of teamwork you need with coop campaign almost requires microphones.

ETA:

I played a couple hours of single player last night....it is awesome so far. The puzzles are getting hard, but they are never hard enough that I couldn't eventually figure them out.

Can't wait to play some more.

I watched my brother play through the first 6 chapters last night. The game is great. It's challenging at times and the dialogue is very funny.

Besides making it longer, co-op was the only way you would really improve on the original game. I'm going to be pushing it on all of my friends now

The one thing I'll hate about playing it on PS3 is that I'll miss all my achievements. Trophies just aren't the same

So if you get it on PS3 you get to install it on your PC too? Can you save it on PS3 and continue game on PC somehow? Also what is the best way I should go about convincing someone to play coop with me or is co-op only over multiple systems, can you play co-op split screen?

I just ordered it off amazon, they had special to get $20 gift card if you buy it before the 23rd. I'm off all next week for Spring Break so what the hell. If you get it as well I guarantee you'll have someone to play co-op with

Good deal. I'll grab a copy this weekend and we can run some co-op next week. I never played the first portal, but this sounds like my kind of game, and something to switch it up a little until Noire comes out.

That's a negative. Or at least when my roomy tried it, he had to start over. He doesn't mind cuz it's fun anyways, but I guess it treats it like 2 different save files.

I believe you can do split screen. I think I've seen footage of that. I don't know why more games don't allow this.

Yeah I bought the new Hot Pursuit and you couldn't do offline split screen co-op. I was fricking pissed. I couldn't race my roomate unless he bought the game too and we played it online. I returned it.

It's garbage. I don't know why this is such a problem for game developers, because all it is is a money making tactic. Force more people to have to buy their own copy of the game. Split-screen has been a staple for quite some time, and it really started to irk me when I started seeing games like R6 and Star Wars: Battlefront go away from it. Maybe Halo spoiled us

Yeah, but just between PS3 and PC, and it's done through Steam. And apparently, these platforms are going to get a lot more extra content through Steam......main reason I got the PS3 version.

It looks sooooooooooo much better on a PC, but I'm not sure if I'll ever load it up on there. I have 2 macs, which I'm sure can run them, but I would be starting over with the game if I do.

Didn't read entire thread. Mics DO work from PC to PS3. Saw my two cousins do it yesterday.
