Never had a PS1, but I did play Crash Bandicoot at a friend's house.

It's all I could add to this thread. Looking through it, I've never played or heard of some of these games.
Feeling left out because I only had a N64.

I missed most of those games too. I actually played a couple of levels of Crash the other day for the first time. I was about to buy FF7 when it was all the craze then one friend told me not to because, "You like sports games so you won't like this." I'm not sure why I listened to that shite.

GOAT. Me and my sister used to play Crash so damn much, wish the rumors of them making a new one would end up being true.
I'd LOVE to see what 2014 NaughtyDog could do with Crash.

They don't own the IP and I think that's the issue.

quote:
"It's never off the table," Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer told IGN when asked about bringing back Crash. "It's not too much time passing, but it's the same issues we explored with the Jak game: Is it something that makes sense to us now? I mean, we still have people that worked on the Crash games in the studio. We never forget our past and it'd be great for nostalgic reasons. It'd be the same reason as why there isn't a Jak 4: I don't know if it's playing to our strengths right now."
And you can't blame them, it's nothing like what they make anymore in every possible way.

I've seen that before too. One of them did an interview and talked about how the market doesn't go for cartoon mascot platformer type games anymore essentially.

It's just not what they make, but if Crash ever did come back and it was old school Crash greatness, it will still have a large market for a platformer.
Give it some LBP features too, which may be another reason it's never been revived.

quote:I feel similarly. I don't really have much nostalgia for the original PS since I had switched to PC gaming at that point. I played "MGS" and "FFVII" when they came to PC. I do, however love "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night", but I played that on my PS2 using the backwards compatibility.
Feeling left out because I only had a N64.
I'm surprised I haven't seen that one mentioned in this thread.
