shite I may be adding myself to the list unless the 720 blows me away which I doubt.

Ive had a windows phone since 2011. I'm stick of this tiles bullshite

I don't need win8. I don't need whatever "extra" bullshite is thrown on the Xbox 720 os. I just need games and friends.

MS needs to impress and I'm one of the biggest ms fanbois there is

It is no secret that MS is going more and more casual and trying to make their system an all in one entertainment system, which is fine for what its worth, but giving more importance to entertainment over gaming is where I think the 720 is headed. I expect them to take a page out of Nintendo's playbook, with a less powerful more cost efficient system.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan President Hiroshi Kawano has revealed to 4Gamer that even he hasn't seen the finished system, and he only saw the DualShock 4 the day before it went on stage.

Whatever the PS4 looks like in the end, we know it won't support the DualShock 3. Perpetual font of wisdom (and Worldwide Studios President) Shuhei Yoshida has warned that the PlayStation Move is the only controller making the leap to the next generation.

Nothing surprising there besides the exec not seeing it.

I made 4th by only arguing with other people and not saying much positive at all.

Well the fanboys are excited about backwards capability, but from different articles, it sounds like you will have to repurchase games you already own.

Unless I'm misunderstanding it?

It is, but this will be the first time the hardware development was headed by a non-Japanese person. So, an exec from the Japanese branch of the company not knowing everything wouldn't be too far-fetched.

We honestly do not yet. It's not a bad assumption to think you'll have to repurchase digital versions of disc-based games, but you can't say for certain. These plans are going to be pretty fluid for the next year.

From Johnathon Blow (developer of The Witness and Braid):

quote:

"I don't have good communication with anyone at Microsoft right now, but all our technical people like the PS4 specs a lot more than the leaked Durango specs, and we like the positioning of the PS4 (its about games) more than what we perceive Microsofts positioning is going to be."

Found this as well....would be cool to be able to rent a game from a console for a fair price before paying for the entire game...and not just a limited demo.

From the link:

Tretton also talked a bit about how Sony didn't actually show what the hardware itself looked like. "I can promise you that it will be plastic, it won't be triangle shaped or round. You'll see the box in due time."

Unless something awful happens, I don't see how people don't end up with every console. There's always more than enough to justify the purchase, imo.

I've owned every system since the original NES. I even had a Virtual Boy. This generation of consoles was just terrible imo. I'm sure I'll still get a next gen console because that's the only way to play baseball or football games. It'll probably be a PS4 too, because deep down I'm a Sony fanboy.

Well I'm buying both systems regardless. I just pray that 2k makes another CFB game and resurrect the 2k Hoops series. I also pray that EA trys hard to make NCAA Football better and at least have 85 man rosters

This'll be huge. Outline the future Sony is going for, tons of PSN+ type ideas.

Question: On that subject, I really expected you to announce a "Spotify for games"-type service, allowing gamers to sign up and pay a monthly fee to access as many titles as they like. Is that something we can look forward to?

Answer: As more and more services and contents become available digitally, we'll have more of an option to create attractive packages. So hypothetically we can look at different models – like a cable TV company. We could have gold, silver or platinum levels of membership, something like that. We can do subscription services when we have more content – especially now that we have the Gaikai technology available. With one subscription you have access to thousands of games – that's our dream.
