The right rig is my main playing rig on the center monitor, the left is an older computer I use to look stuff up so I don't have to alt tab out of games and file storage it's on the right and left monitors.

I fricking love my Sennheiser 598's I got a few weeks ago. Paired with the Soundblaster FX 5.1 mainly for the amp, they are absolutely fantastic listening to my massive collection of FLAC music most of which is 24 bit, and when I kick on a game that I need surround, the Creative virtual surround does very well in H1Z1, CSGO, BF4.

Overall, wish I made this move A LOT sooner.

I ended up getting the Blue Snowball mic too btw, it's great too for the $60 price tag, wasn't spending that much on a Yeti just to voice chat.

You play a lot of H1Z1 UH? Hit me up on Steam, LF ppl run with. Now I've been impressed with the Devs of H1Z1 constantly pushing updates out for bug fixes. This game gets an update damn near daily.

If anyone wants to whore my W3 out, let me know on Steam. I'm barely on during the weekdays during the day.

Yeah, battle royale, nightly usually at least a few matches.

And yeah they've been phenomenal with it, how every early access should be.

The product page on Steam, Alienware.com and GameStop all list a "nVidia GeForce GTX GPU w/2GB GDDR5". Anyone think we might see a very low end Pascal GPU like we did with Maxwell's 750 and 750 Ti?

Alienware Steam Machine

Maybe, but I did read a day or so ago that GP100 has been taped out, and supposedly it'll be the GTX 970 of Pascal, or first-gen flagship Pascal, and it's rumored nvidia will just be doing a top-down release. The taped out GP100 also uses HBM2 rather than DDR5. So the steam machines could just end up using another modded Maxwell. That's what Alienware did with their Alpha machine, basically a 750 Ti modified to use even less power. Wouldn't be surprised if they're modified 960s this time around.

EDIT:

Also, AMD confirmed pricing for their rebrands: LINK

Much better than the $499 for the 390x that was rumored a little while ago.

Too bad they'll need a 1000w psu to run them...

Maybe to run two of them. Even the Fury's TDP is only 300w. With the 2 8-pin ports, it can draw as much as 375W. I much prefer performance over power efficiency anyway.

I just don't want to have to buy a new psu soon.

How would the 390X compare performance wise with my two 970's?

Well, 290X and a 970 trade blows currently. They're about even in performance. The 390X is essentially going to be an overclocked 290X with 8GB of vram. Two 970s will unquestionably be better than a single 390x. In crossfire, I imagine the 390Xes will be better, and the 390s in crossfire might be better than SLI 970s at higher resolutions (4K). Crossfire 390s could trade blows with a single Titan X.

I've had a CPU/mobo upgrade on the backburner for a while. 4770K is doing perfectly well, and my other hardware priorities are expensive. Next upgrade for me absolutely has to be a monitor. Thinking about 60Hz 4K g-sync, but all it'll do is make me want to upgrade my GPUs.

I think I'll upgrade to Cannonlake in 2016-ish, which will coincide with one of my kids no longer being in daycare. DDR4 should actually be considerably faster than DDR3 by then.

CPUs are boring and really don't give much of a boost in gaming.

How boring does VR sound to you guys? The great thing about PC gaming isn't just the great graphics and immersive gameplay, its being able to do other shtt at the same time. Wearing something on my head limits that exact thing.
