There are a couple quest items up there but they don't seem to do anything for me as I don't seem to have the quest. I haven't been reading the thread much lately because I am trying to avoid spoilers and some people have finished the game. I am 68 hours in and still in Act 1.

I wouldn't be doing that, but I have the Pyres if Novigrad bug and I can't advance the main story right now.
As far as I can tell, the game is going to be as long as you want it to be
Also, I did some contract last night in Novigrad with a Doppler and got a **POSSIBLE SPOILER?**
A diagram for a sword that requires me to be lvl 41 to use lol. I thought that was random as hell. So be wary what you decide when you come across that.

I just started. I'm working my way through White Orchad and opened and already met with the Emperor.
Trying to finish up all the question marks in White Orchad before moving on.

Sounds like we're on the same track. I'm level 14, 55 hours into the game. I've only completed as far as Pyres of Novigrad, which I did just to see if mine was bugged (it wasn't).
I realized I'd completely ignored witcher gear, so today I collected and crafted all of the base Griffin School items.

I have the serpent swords and all the Griffin gear. Somehow I randomly came across the superior ursine gear. Imm still missing a crap ton of he enhanced potions, oils, etc.
this next patch can't come out soon enough so I can progress.

has anyone managed to glitch the horse races? Twice I managed to do something that made the opposing rider just spin around in circles while I ran the race.

I said frick it and just went to Skellige. The Novigrad story can wait. I'm lvl 15 so i'll be overpowered later but whatever.

I just finished getting all the Cat school gear. It is pretty badass. Just did the the dumpling and the sword side mission as well. That sword is awesome. Does 5 less damage than my cat school silver sword, but does 50% bonus critical damage. I'm assuming that is 50% to what my critical damage already is, which is really high because I've been leveling up the fast attack tree like crazy. That whirl attack is phenomenal.

Damn I'm way behind, just finished the quest where I had to search for the ghosts in the tower on the island. I let the ghost have her way and she killed her lover and might have released some kind of plague. Hope I didn't completely screw something up, I had a bad feeling about her, but wanna be a nice witcher and help as many idiots as I can.

I just finished the whole Keira Metz storyline. It was a really good one. This game is great.

I'm slowly leveling up. I'm at level 6 now, I wish killing randoms in the woods helped your xp out more but meh.

I agree. I'm at level 8 now. Leveling seemed to pick up a little once I started moving my way through Velen.
