So, is there any chance that mods or future updates save this game?

I mean, I don't know how hardcoded many of these issues are but I am sure mods can make non-stackable items stack or make the weapon/suit/ship upgrades into their own unique slots which would solve a lot of inventory issues.

I think you could also scale back the formula for the world generation to make crazier worlds form.

I mean all things considered Hello Games still did an amazing job considering how small they are, but they don't deserve a pass for the misleading. They would not have pushed nearly as many units if they were honest about what got cut. Litigation is inevitable.

Can you give me an itemized list of what was specifically promised and not delivered? Tia

It's the first post on the last page. Did you choose to ignore it?

Perhaps those that want to bitch and particularly those that aren't playing or never played can post in the other thread and those of us that are playing can post in this thread so we can share information without this thread being cluttered up. Thanks.

Geez. After reading that Reddit thread, I'm convinced a class action suit will be filed by someone...and it may be justified.

This game is about 5% of what was promised.

Yea, this is getting old. Please create a new thread if you want to bitch and complain about how and indie team of 10 people made an awesome, very unique game with 16 quintillion unique planets and maybe couldnt deliver their entire vision exactly as they promised when coming up with the idea of the game 4 years ago.

That reddit thread is nothing new. The basis of the game is the same as promised. Did they fall short of what they promised and wanted to deliver? Yes. It is still an amazing and original game that I've already put 60 hours into and have no slowed down? Yes.

The interviews everyone points to are from the first year of development. Sean came out in the last year and corrected everything, even saying "this is not a multiplayer game, don't go into it thinking that"

Bunch of whining babies. This game is what it was promised to be. Did it fall a bit short? Sure. This was 10 people working on it, AAA games have teams of hundreds and hundreds of people. Cut them some slack.

I just read that reddit post

Someone took the time to create that thing? Holy crap they are salty. They are actually using the gamescon reveal trailer from 2013 when the game was barely in development and comparing them to the official release and saying the game is a lie. They are also pointing to random interviews from 2013 and 2014 when the game was in infant stages That's literally what the entire reddit post is.

Name me one game that has lived up to the hype of an E3 reveal trailer or has not fallen short.

People are butthurt because sony and hello games created huge hype train and sean murray was purposely vague with his answers on certain topics and IMO he should have been more transparent and this would have been mostly avoided.

The game is a great game for what it is. People love to tear devs down in this industry, especially when they break promises. It could be warranted, but that reddit post is a joke. The fact that someone went through all that work is unreal. It's funny because it started out way worse than it is. In a few days time he's had to come back and edit things he said weren't in the game and say they were.

The game was promised as a space exploration game where you could seamlessly travel between 16,000,000,000,000,000,000 unique planets and solar systems in real time with no loading screens. That's literally the basis of the game. All the extra stuff could be looked at as added features. If anything 90% of the game delivered and 5-10% fell short.

Which if it was a $20 early access title people would be a lot more okay with this game. It isn't $60 AAA title it was treated and marketed as

The same thing they did with Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Someone will sue for false advertising.

See I understand this sentiment. I just disagree. I played uncharted 4 and that is the most AAA game you can get. It was hugely underwhelming and consisted of "jump, climb, jump, roll grapple, cover shoot" The story was meh and I went away feeling ripped off after playing the amazing dark souls 3 which was well worth the $60. It's a matter of opinion. I do agree the marketing of NMS is where these problems started. People just had unreal expectations of what this game was going to be. I've already put 4x more hours into NMS. I'm sick of this topic. Let's get back on track.

I finally got the Atlas Pass v2 last night. I need the rail gun attachment for my mining beam now.

Someone is planning to sue Warner Bros because they didn't think Joker was in Suicide Squad as much as the previews made it look like he would be...

I can see someone who actually financially backed the game, via kickstarter, having a case if they didn't fulfill promises, but I want to say that any court will throw anything like that out because you have the ability to wait for release and reviews before making the purchase, hence the bent towards NOT pre-ordering games anymore.

Even though that's impossible for some people to do because they bought into the hype and put on the blinders.

How do you get it? I've been on a gold rich planet with sentinels that are almost non-existent (they don't care about gold mining anyway) and one creature that likes to head butt me from time to time. I'm there for a while saving for a big ship upgrade. Suit is up to 32 slots.

That Reddit post format is shite. Why don't you list things that were promised that don't exist in the game...not just haven't seen yet.

Also, certain aspects playing "bigger" parts is not something that was left out of the game.

If it's in the game, it's in the game.

Do you have the v1 pass yet?

And concerning mining, I was also mining the huge rocks of gold and emeril at first. Its a good method to gather units esp if your mining beam has the fast mining and longer cooldown upgrades. But I stumbled across a planet last night that had these weird pods that said "unknown" and had an action button on them. When you hit it it opens the pod up and they have these pearls in them. Once you take the pearl the sentinals come after you with the dog. All these pods were bundled up and I had a trading post computer building not far off. I could make a run and get 15+ pearls before jetting into the building and I was making 150,000+ units per run. I would open up as many as I could hold, then make the run an extract the pearls and running from the sents. It was so much faster than mining the rocks.

I ended up buying a ship with 26 slots for 2 million. I will continue to look for this planet to get the bigger ships. I wish you could eventually warp to any place you have previously discovered.
