Played some of the campaign last night. Damn this game is pretty. Liking the weapons so far. Have not ventured into the MP yet. Will likely do as I have on previous Halos and finish the campaign then play MP. I will say that Legendary doesn't seem to be as hard as the previous games. 3 of us were pretty much just walking through the game without much issue.

I was supposed to get this game yesterday, I ordered it through Amazon pre order and they said I would get it on the release day but it didn't come Amazon still says its left the shipment facility and in transit UPS says they haven't received it.

Was able to get a few games in last night with my roommate. Pox joined in. Had a blast even though I need to readjust to the grind of Halo. I was stoked to be able to switch my control scheme over to a COD style setup (Fish Sticks..........COD........get it??), but I then proceeded to toss a nade every time I wanted to reload.
Oh, and I hate how they have your gamertag in all caps on your player card. Mine read "LOL SICBOY LOL", which kind of ruins what I was going for.

I am using that button lay out too and I was also throwing grenades trying to reload. How is the multiplayer?

Also got a few games in. Kinda scary how much closer the MP is getting to COD.
Load outs
Prestige type leveling
3 customized unique abilities
unlimited sprint
overpowered weapons
munition drops
This is simply not halo anymore.
I do like the game so far and it is fun as frick...but I am really scared for what the next Halo will bring. I guess Ill try to enjoy this one.

I really liked the MP. I know the Halo loyalists will bemoan this fact, but it's not the slow pace "running through mud" style that Halo has been in the past, and I like that. Every time I go back to the older games, that's the one thing I never get acclimated to. Trying to evade attacks, but I only have one speed, so lets hope I make it. I still have a lot to figure out, but I think I'll really like it. You still have to work for your kills, which to me, is what defines a Halo game.

Wonderful I was trying to get away from COD. I haven't even gone into the MP so did not know all this was there.

It's there, but not nearly as overwhelming as a COD game. You're not going to have instances where your constantly dodging death from above.

I mean its a very fun MP, but you can absolutely tell where it is headed.

Honest question: do you think that Halo could have stayed where it was and still remained a relevant franchise? I love the Splinter Cell series, but when I go from Chaos Theory to the first game, I'm so glad they decided to add some gameplay mechanics to the mix. COD has created this nasty atmosphere in the shooter world, but it still does a lot of things right.

I'll definitely be giving it a try just not as psyched as I was I guess after seeing that. Like I said, I will finish the campaign first though.

I do absolutely think that games need to evolve.
I just have a problem with what Halo is evolving into. Instead of evolving into something we already see too much of, why don't can't we do something new. They are called creator/developers for a reason.
Halo 4 is still far off from being COD, but I just get worried when I see the obvious new similarities.

Its Halo through and through and I have had a fricking blast so far. Don't be too worried about it.

From what I've seen with 343, I have faith that they'll keep the series modern but maintain what makes Halo a standout in the genre. Wait and see for 5, I suppose.

anyone in the convington or New Olreans area order through amazon for release day delivery and not recieve it yet? They told me it probably got shipped in a bulk package so this is this is why it hasn't show up in their system yet. Has anyone had any similar issues with Amazon in the past?
