Yeah, it does.

My personal favorite is the old school JRPG where you basically journey through wide expanses of land to cities, which is a sign for you to grind, buy weapons, and then prepare for the next cave/dungeon and eventual boss.

But that's not the modern RPG.

Yes, there should be multiple cities for you to explore. Also, from the reviews I read, there are multiple different environments ranging from jungle to desert to snow to beach, etc.

It is expected to be a very expansive and deep game.

And other smaller maps.

Nice.

I like the common themed names to avoid spoilers.

There will be cities.

I'm pretending Da2 didn't exist and just remembering da:o lore. Much more exciting that way

In addition to cities, there is home base and in the explored regions you can set up camps to fast travel to as well.

You can upgrade and customize your keep. Could be interesting.

I'm sold. This might be the game to finally pull me away from the silly microtransaction worthless pile of garbage, I've been hooked on for 11 months.

EA Access members can play 6 hours starting tomorrow. All progress will carry over to the full game. If Halo matchmaking is still having issues tomorrow I think I am going to try it out.

Who can recommend a good way to get a crash course in the lore? Like is there some companion book or a series of videos out there?

Probably could wikia the story somewhere.

Orlesian nobles are humans in the city..political and money driven

Taventer magisters are keepers of magic and highly frowned upon for their dark arts and cause a lot of chaos

Elves keep to themselves in the forest but will defend their shite like crazy..I'm sure a quest will send us to some ancient elven ruins

Dwarves built everything a long time ago and went underground and built more shite

Dragons are pissed off at everything

I still have never finished Origins. But....

Mages are highly regulated by the powers that be. Non regulated magic is frowned upon and you can be jailed or killed for being a magic user that doesn't belong to the mage's function. The templars are an order that have been set up to watch over magic users and combat them if need be.

Elves are heavily looked down upon. They get the crappy jobs that no one else wants and are treated poorly by everyone.

The dwarves are usually off doing their own thing in the Underground, which was attacked in Origins.

Darkspawn are an evil force from "the other side" that sometimes invade the living world because they're assholes.

The Grey Wardens are a cult set up to stop the Darkspawn. They do this by drinking darkspawn blood, which kills off a lot of grey warden recruits but let's them get inside info on darkspawn.

That's all i got right now.

It's so dumb that they only allow 6 hours. Just allow early access a day or so before instead of parsing it out.

I just loaded up origins and damn it's good. I may let that hold me over for a while.
