Going back to your question about HM, if you're that high you're at least good enough to do HM up to Oryx at the very least.
Just got back from a wedding in Mexico yesterday and went from rank 1 1/2-5 in IB, and had to run three HM raids before reset.....still no freaking helmet on any character.

Yeah you can do everything on Hard honestly as low as about 305 except Oryx. But honestly I would recommend 310 at the lowest for Oryx. Even then you may have trouble depending on your load out.

It is ridiculous how difficult some groups I've played with make that fight, even with people above 310

What loadout would you recommend for him? I have been using Touch of Malice.
I'm down for hard mode whenever. If I can't beat him then I can't beat him but I can get a lot of loot on the way if RNG isn't a bitch.

All I still use is ToM, 1kYS and then the raid heavy for the Oryx fight.
For lower leveled people though ToM may not be ideal, just because you can't risk losing that health.

That's the same loadout I use. I need a good special drop thought because my thousand yard stare is only 300.

I've gotten really lucky with mine. I got one from the Nightfall at 310 and then I've also gotten like 7 HM shotguns that have moved all three of them up to like 314+. It's just all about getting in there than anything else.

I run Malice, raid sniper (got lucky and have a 319), and the raid rocket launcher. I recommend an arc sniper because the centurions have arc shields and can be a bitch to get down sometimes

I got the raid rocket launcher the other day. It looks good but i don't use rocket launchers much in year 2.

Those Centurion's are real bastards. I typically will pop 2-3 1KYS shots in em then just burn them with the HMG or my Malice.
I also got a 319 raid sniper, but put it into my Spindle which is now 317. I don't regret it at all.

Jumped into hard mode and got to the sisters before my daughter intervened. I got up to 311 so no light issues anymore.

Ran a buddy that was a 305 hunter through HM last night with the idea that we would stop at Oryx. Well, he somehow got God drops and we took down Oryx. After the raid he's now 311 light. WTF.

He got a 320 rocket launcher, 317 fusion rifle, 310 sniper rifle and two armor drops that I can't remember the light level of.
