Thinking about rolling the dice on an exotic chest engram from xur to try to get heart of praxic fire. Someone talk me out of it before I get home. I'm setting myself up for disappointment

Has anyone tried Skolas since the patch. I haven't been able to log in this week except to do VOG on one of my 2 characters.
He was fairly easy with the burns but now I hear you actually have to play through the mechanics of the fight, but it is manageable.

I would think he would be easier now. Not that he was much of a problem before.

So I finished the crucible portion of the Thorn bounty, thanks to the shotgun slide 
All I have left is to do the Phogoth strike with the epic modifier active. Anybody wanna be a part of something great?

You may have already done it, but it's a little more involved than just the phogoth strike

His health is now 15,000, compared to 27,000 before. While it may take a little longer to take his health down, the fact that you're not getting destroyed by his scorch cannon or shrapnel launchers with solar burn or every other enemy, other than servitors, with arc burn, it would seem to be much easier to me.
Having adds spawn at certain health levels instead of on a timer will also help. No more enemies piling up.

Just from my experience I would rank the fights in this order. Easiest to hardest.
1. Solar Burn
2. Void Burn
3. New Skolas
4. Arc Burn

If the drop rate on Skolas weapons was better I'd be more inclined to do the newer version. The quick burn made it a quick run for a small chance at something good. I have all the ciphers I can get and enough etheric light to last for a while.
All I want is the elemental primary weapons and the drop rate is so small it's not worth the effort.

I don't care or want to do it either. I spend 90% of my time on PVP nowadays. And the other 10% feels like a chore.
