Mr Gardoki and GalvoAg, just saw y'all's game invites. I had let my console on over night to download and install The Last of Us. I've been wanting to play that game for a long time but couldn't until I got my PS4. I think I'll crack out to that today along with building up one of my two other characters in Destiny.
I started a hunter and a warlock but I'm contemplating deleting one and making another titan and use DattoWatto's strategy in making two of the same class in order to cut down level up time on gear for a different class and use the second titan (Datto made 3) to run weekly heroics, nightfall and Raids twice a week by swapping out gear in my vault.

You can upgrade a secondary character very easily. Just swap out your weapons, play the weekly stuff, and play strikes/crucible.

Hey, fellas. Been reading this thread for a while and trying to level up to get closer to your levels. I'm up to 27 Hunter and haven't done the VoG yet. I'll join in one this week whenever y'all need a random to fill in for y'all's normal crew. I've been playing Tiger Strikes a lot lately, so I'm always down for those, too. I need to join the clan. I am currently a mid level 25 and I'm about to unlock some legendary equipment as I am about 5 crucible matches away from being level 2 dead orbit.
So hopefully I'll be a 27 here very shortly.

I was looking at the dead orbit stock. Is it different enough to bother accessing? It all looked the same. Also what about future war cult?

I don't think it is much different than and other level 2 vanguard/new monarch/future war cult gear, but I'm not positive. I mainly was looking at light points of each and not so much the armor rating, which may be a mistake.
ETA:
Too answer your question, if you are a level 2 in any other faction I don't know that there is a good reason to waste time trying to get to level 2 in any other. Someone else might be able to speak to that more though.

Yes. All factions have different weapons and armor. You should plan on going with what you like as stats and skills.
New monarchy has Int and Strength.
Dead Orbit has Strength and Discipline.
Future war cult has Int and Discipline.
They all have different weapons and skills.
Just plan on what you like.
