I rely way to much on the L2 sweep because it can hit multiple enemies, I need to practice with one handed so I can use my gun to parry.

This is where I am now. Timing a counter attack seems like a huge focus on this game as those do so much damage. I got about four of those on the priest boss which was the main reason I could finally take him down.

but you have to die at some point to get to the hunters dream. read that in one of the reviews

Just have to find a lamp, which will teleport you to the Hunter's Dream.

Depending on if you even made it to the cleric beast or not (right behind those beasts on the bridge) and leveled up at all, you will not be able to beat those beasts easily, if at all. I ran past them to get to the cleric beast so the doll would wake up in the hunter's dream so I could level up.

I just went back to fight them and they were still tough. If you must, throw a pebble at one and fight one at a time. Or you can run past them and take a hard left down the stairs into the house and run in the door, they can not fit through the door and you can cheese them from inside.

Correct. It gives you echoes. I use them once I'm back in Hunter's Dream and about to level up. I'm now at Blood Stained Beast. Very pleased to be skipping FAQs for boss tips. Will likely beat down BSB. Unlocking shortcuts and still been satisfying so far.

I bank all the dew until I need to level up then I use it all in hunters dream before buying items or leveling up.

And yea it just gives you echoes.

It's a huge part of this game. I just suck at timing. Were you able to land one on the beast form or not?

I got a few on the human form but by the time I heard the chime and noticed he went to his knees, i didn't have enough time to walk up to him and R1.. Then he fricked me up each time

I timed a couple last night but I usually forgot I could do it. It could have bailed me out some too so I need to explore my options more.

Cool thanks for the tip. Yea I was doing well with parrying while he's in human form but it's near impossible in beast form.

Weirdly enough, I hit him with a Molotov once or twice when in beast form and it didn't seem to do much damage for me. I'm going to have to farm for some more echoes so I can buy more molotovs and bullets. I was all out when I quit last night

Any tips for when he transforms to a beast?

when he drops down to transform run up to him and spam attack him, I got him down where he was almost dead right before he transformed.

this + music box + molotovs. only used like 3 vials using this strategy

in regards to the visceral attacks, im the kind that subconsciously worries about running out of ammo, so ive been avoiding the guns lol. just got a notification that my ammo storage has maxed out, so i guess it's time to start practicing. i use the gun on bosses pretty exclusively.

went through old yharnam and found the big chapel with blood starved beast, but i was toting 15k souls so i didnt go in. went back, leveled up, then opened the gate outside the chapel to get to the cathedral plaza. opened the shortcut gate after going through there and quit

should i proceed through the cathedral area or go slaw the BSB?

I feel like it drops enough ammo to be fine as long as you don't abuse it.

Are the sewers worth going down to early or should I wait? I went near them and turned around last night when I saw the giant rats.

Yea I found the music box and used it, and it does help a bit. Only problem is it takes a while to start it, and by that time he can be right on top of you beating the shite out of you

Also, I notice if you use the music box too often, it makes him transform earlier, which is more difficult to me. The music box still works on him sometimes in beast form though, he's just so damn fast it's hard to get it off before he's on top of you

These are thew two werewolf things I said in my earlier comment to use molotovs on.

I believe I only had to use 3 or 4 molotovs to finish them off. Didn't even have to melee them.

He auto transforms after 3 uses and then you get 1 use in beast form.

Nice Hunter Armor set down there. It's on par with the armor you can buy but it looks cooler and varies slightly in some atrributes.

Have you made it to cleric beast yet so you are able to level up?
