Bump. This is a great game, just shredded 7 people in a row defending the forest.
Does anyone think the sequel could be World War II?

What is everyone's opinion of the Martini Henry?
I don't know if I love it or hate it yet.

New Game Mode: Frontlines Experience a mix of Conquest and Rush as you fight for chained control points in a tug-of-war frontline. Both teams fight for one flag at a time and when this objective is captured the action moves on to the next. Capture the enemy’s HQ control point and the game turns into a Rush-style section where telegraph posts need to be attacked or defended.

Trench Raider Elite Class: Use the melee skills of the new Elite Class: the Trench Raider. With the brutal Raider Club and impressive grenade arsenal, you will be a terrifying sight.

Verdun is going to be a bitch to attack.

Going to be a fun map to just run around in and look at. I can foresee some really intense moments on it.

Since it got nerfed I haven't been using it. The smle carbine is the one I use mostly.

That makes sense.
I saw people talking about the one shot kills but I've had very few and the ones I did have were from very close distances.
Is there a way to see why guns they tuned in previous updates? I didn't play it for about a month and have noticed some guns feel different.

Finally bit the bullet and downloaded this game last night. I haven't had a chance to delve into it much yet, but I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces.

Ok, after a few days to get into it, I have to say that BF1 is an awesome game, but good god is it ever rage-inducing. I've had to turn it off a few times and go back to SW Battlefront to avoid a reversion to my controller-throwing days. I am constantly getting killed by people I didn't see and had no idea were there. Just moving around the maps can be an exercise in frustration. I'm sure it gets better as you get more used to the maps and understand how they flow, but right now I mostly feel like a target dummy.

Ha ha, yes, good point! I'm sure my poor in-game avatars consider me the donkey to their lions.

I love killing snipers.
I have a new love for flying the planes. One of the joys is finding the snipers that sit all the way in the back of the map and dropping bombs on them.

any opinions on the DLC?

The new DLC isn't available yet. Last I saw it's due out next Month.
This game still frustrates the hell out of me because it's hard and I'm not very good, but it is quite possibly the most visually arresting and immersive FPS I've ever played. When you join in right at the start of the first map in Conquer Hell, and you find yourself as a German infantryman standing in a trench, and alarm bells begin to ring behind you as you peer over the parapet to see a crowd of American doughboys cresting the hill and rushing towards your position... you are in the shite, man.
I think the most memorable moment I've had in the game so far, and the one that made me feel the most connected to the soldiers whose experiences the game attempts on some level to portray, was the first time I encountered a flamethrower. It was on the Argonne Forest map, and I, playing as an American, was helping to try and capture the bunker that dominates Objective B in the central sector. Gas grenades were everywhere, so I put on my gas mask and rushed in, barely able to see anyone or anything. As I entered the bunker and frantically looked around for the enemy, I saw a masked German infantryman suddenly appear out of the smoke and gas, and who, before I could get a shot at him, unleashed a tremendous gout of flame from the Wex that I could barely make out on his back. Instantly the bunker was turned into a raging inferno. As I tried frantically to get clear of the flames, I saw a fellow soldier turn and run towards the exit, screaming as he burned alive. He disappeared into the billowing gas clouds as the flames surrounded me and I realized there was no way out. I was burned to a horrible death shortly thereafter. The whole scene altogether only took a handful of seconds, but I was actually struck rather profoundly by the experience. It seemed terrifying enough just playing through it in a video game, but the thought that there were people who went through something like that for real is... difficult to comprehend. I can't imagine anything closer to actual hell on earth than that.
So kudos, DICE. You've made a combat game that actually moved me emotionally. Well done.
