Put Sony and Microsoft to shame.

I really think it only took an announcement of Metroid Prime 4 to do it.

Well the pokemon rpg also helped. Mario Odyssey looks really fun.

Absolutely agree. Nintendo does things very differently, so it's hard to say they are ever in direct competition with the other guys. But the Nintendo fan base is buzzing big time after that spotlight video, while Xbox and PS bases are complaining.

I don't think so. If they had Metroid gameplay, then I'd probably agree with you.

after seeing the gameplay of the Mario * Rabbid's game - Ubi wins this e3 hands down. Holy hell I'm excited about that game
P.S: Nintendo did good, I'm more excited about what they showed than what Sony or Microsoft showed.

I love how fascinated we get every year with who "wins" E3. Saw a lot of cool games and gameplay this year from eveyrone. Nintendo impressed with the Mario trailer, and it's exciting to see at least something on Metroid, but showing the number 4 doesn't "win" E3.
Celebrate games, not platforms.
Hug a tree.

Mario Odyssey looks like a blast and Metroid Prime 4 is a must buy. Definitely picking both of those up.

Ubi probably had the best press conference. That's where I'm leaning.
I dunno about Nintendo. The footage they showed in the direct for Fire Emblem and Xenoblade was just horribad. They looked terrible and I have already preordered those games . The footage later in the Treehouse restored my faith a bit.
IDGAF about Pokemon, Kirby, or Yoshi so the only new thing I'm interested in is Metroid Prime 4. Mario gameplay looked great. Imo, the biggest win was the lack of delays for games this year.

I still do NOT understand how anyone can play Warrior games.... ugh, I tried to like Hyrule Warriors but it was just horrible

Pokemon, Kirby, or Yoshi
I don't care about Yoshi or Pokemon, and I haven't cared for Kirby in the last 15 years - but I loved the OG Yoshi games, and this one felt like it, so it had me pretty excited

That's why I put quotations in my e3 thread. "Winning" e3 is so dumb. Just be glad the games are coming out.

I generally enjoy them. Hyrule Warriors is not a very good Warriors game. Lacks a lot of content you find in the longer running games.
I'm pretty excited for Dynasty Warriors 9, which should be out this year.

They are an acquired taste. I thought Hyrule Warriors was too hard and had annoying checkpoints that would sometimes result in looping mission failures.
Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and particularly 2 are great games. 2 has an open world and plays a lot like an MMORPG, but in both games, I got annoyed with all the enemies with too much HP.
Samurai Warriors 4 and Warriors Orochi 3 are fantastic. I like all the character designs even if the different characters don't play all that differently.

Fire Emblem meshes a lot better with the DW series than Zelda does. Zelda is too stylized for a warriors game. FE is perfect IMO.

I mean Nintendo just re-releases the same IP (as great and classic as they are) every year and people jizz all over themselves.

I mean, everyone does it, and all of them get:

It just so happens that Nintendo has been around a bit longer

Also, Nintendo at least tries to freshen it up from time to time, just like everyone else:

Xenoblabe and Splatoon are both sequels though...

As franchises though, those are super young compared to everything else.

DQ Heroes is probably the best crossover for the series imo. It does the best job of blending elements of Dragon Quest into the Warriors gameplay. Felt more like a normal RPG than action game.
