Seems pretty stupid of them to see there is a release button for the joycons and they still tried to force them to slide out.

Anyone who travels frequently for a living is salivating over this thing. It is most practical console ever made. It's going to kill it. I bet it outsells the Wii if the line up is good enough.

The Wii is an outlier, it was a console for its time.

I do think we'll see a very respectable 60-80 million on this though. I think it splits the WiiU/DS difference, but has a high attachment rate along with that.

And I think today is a big part of that, if they can get on the indie schedule of the PS4 and X1, while having a steady pace of Nintendo games, and maybe enticing big 3rd parties to come on board with ports or unique games, it will sell much better. For instance, I haven't bought a single indie game outside of Jackbox on the X1 (and I'm not counting games with Gold). I'd say at least 4-5 of these titles I'm getting on release day. Particularly Overcooked, Mr. Shifty and Yooka Laylee.

The biggest problem with the Wii was the controller. We won't have that problem here, and that's bigger than people think.

They don't really show any kind of release button in any of the demos, do they? Just sliding in and out?

I travel every week for work and have zero desire to get this.

Your endless knighting has turned you into quite the little bitch.

On one hand, it's good that it isn't likely to be an out-of-the-box problem. But also? Drops happen. One drop, both controller tabs broke.

Hes knighting isn't nearly as obnoxious as you posting every possible negative thing you see

Otherwise why can't you just wait until you can pick up a Switch to play it? It's going to be the better version and you'll be able to take it with you on the road much easier.

Is this a serious question?

I may pickup a switch later if fire emblem looks cool .. but yeah... no chance I'm waiting on this new zelda.

I leave the house to get away from video games so the mobility does nothing for me.

Really? Asking if a person can just wait a couple weeks isn't a valid question? If you can't get a toy day 1 it's total bullshite?

The switch version of Botw will offer:

Higher resolution in tv mode
Faster loading
Improved audio.

For those of us who don't care about those points and don't want to hunt down a switch and pay +300 bucks and who already own a wii u... the decision is easy

Edit: and mobility. So while the Switch version offers some nice benefits...the uncertainty of availability makes waiting an unattractive proposition

Heres the thing though: Is this also their next handheld?

If this is basically their next handheld and they treat it as such it will almost certainly outsell the Wii.

Hand held market is massive, especially in Japan.

I honestly posted that as a cautionary tale, but be sensitive about it.

3DS did what like 50-60?

The DS was like 120 or something. Portable gaming took a massive hit with the advent of tablets, or Nintendo supported the DS for too long.

A good answer to know is how many consumers had a DS but not a Wii.
