Old European time era is boring and bland as frick.
Time to switch it up. Black Flag was the tits.

How are those boring and not the last one
I wouldn't call WWII boring, other than with the way the game is set up, they've pretty well limited themselves to pre-US Civil War eras.
Egypt, landscape issues? Outside of the Spynx and pyramids, what do they have?
Feudal Japan absolutely would work on every conceivable level, but Ubisoft has seemingly been against it from the beginning. For whatever reason.

I know they've been wanting to do one set in India during the British Raj for a shite long time.

The new Assassin's Creed game set to be revealed next week is entitled Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and stars an assassin named Jacob Frye, according to promotional material leaked to Polygon.

The information obtained by Polygon reinforces this, as it states Syndicate will "transport millions of gamers to an astonishing recreation of London during the Industrial Revolution where they will find themselves immersed in a game world they'll have to see to believe."

Can't wait for the trailer that looks nothing like the game

Maybe, but people were skeptical about Colonial America at first. That worked fine. I think the biggest reason they wouldn't do Egypt would because they would have to think creatively with the way they do "stealth," and that would require an actual investment from them. They're too content to print money putting out the same rehashed shite every year. I swear to god, there's more innovation each year in Madden that what we've seen in recent AC games.

I cannot believe someone said that Feudal Japan would be too repetitive.
That is so blatantly ironic, it almost has to be intentional.
I do know that I'm never buying a single AC game again. Strictly a GameFly affair.

Same, I have only Gamefly'd them since AC2.
I liked Black Flag and AC4 though, nothing overly great for sure, but I still had fun beating them and AC5 or whatever they call it will be no different I'm sure. Rent, beat, send back.

Well, we had Dishonored and that was fantastic. Not historically accurate at all, but neither is AC.
Edit* But Ubisoft couldn't make a Dishonored game if they tried. It'd have to have towers.

Rouge was great too imo
Regarding the settings:
IF they ever did AC in japan it'd have to be during oda nobunaga's time. Or during Edo period.
I just don't see it happening.
Egypt is interesting with some pre established lore(Isis/Osiris and that female assassin) but It'd be a challenge.
WW2....no
I'd prefer something somewhat unexplored tbh.

We know there will be towers that you dive off of into a bale of hay, there will be clunky unintuitive controls for movement, and there will be follow missions where the person can spot you through a building, and if they get more than 10 feet away, you magically lose them and disconnect.

The Tenchu series is set in Feudal Japan. I don't know if that has anything to do with why Ubisoft doesn't want to do an AC title in that time period, but that is to say, you can play an entire series of stealth games set in that era.

Pacific isles WW2 would be good, too.
Mexico-Texas during Texas independence seems to be in their wheelhouse. Plenty of larger than life historical celebrity participants
