DISH has already been offering that service. They would have to throw up a few more satellites and require you to have 6 LNB's to offer real 1080P though uncompressed. Im guessing they are offering PPV movies in 1080P at prob 9 dollars a pop. The Dish companies just cant offer 1080P until everyone had HD and they can drop all the standard def channels for space.

Where do you get your info?

I spoke with a regional VP from DTV and he said they can offer all the 1080p content now. All the sattelite companies do is pass through information they dont actually broadcast it. He said as soon as the tv stations themselves offer a 1080p signal they will pass it through to their customers.

I also spoke with a camera man from ABC in New Orleans, he told me that they just rewired their whole studio to do up to 1080i. They have no plans to rewire it anytime soon to give 1080p. I dont know exactly why they would have to rewire the whole station, but that what he said.

Sorry to say but the VP of DTV doesnt know shite about the technology of his own company if he doesnt think that a satellite has to compress data and has a very limited amount of space to do so. Seriously he is a fricking retard if he doesnt know that about a primary function of his own company. Why else would they imply MPEG-4 AT ALL?? You do know that MPEG is a compression definition for christs sake. Someone blew a whole lot of smoke up your arse.

Yes, I happen to know that everything is compressed and so does he. You do not know me and I do not know you, which is why I asked where you got your information.

You can go frick yourself now, a-hole.
