Uh, the Nier games are disconnected from Drakengard by 2000 years in the timeline. The events in the 5th ending of Drakengard are the catalyst for what happens in Nier.
I wouldn't worry too much for the purposes of "being ready" for the new Nier.
Now, if you really want to go down this rabbit hole. I can provide you timelines and attempts at lore explanation. It's very convoluted.

Awesome! Nier let you keep everything so that you could storm through NG+ in 1/4 of the time. It made going through the areas or content again (it was a little different) not bad.
