How do I play these old games on a PS4? Is there a specific site to go to on the PS4 to download an emulator? I guess I might need some step by step instructions. TIA.

If there is a way, and I don't think there is, it would require expert level modding and hacking. You didn't even spell site correctly.

If you're dying to play retro games in your living room on a modern HDTV you have a few options, each with drawbacks and each will cost you money
1. Buy the original systems. This is the real thing. These don't work well with modern tv's, there are issues of scaling and input lag, and depending on your tv may not work at all. You would need a scaler. Also you need to either have the individual cartridges or buy an everdrive. And it would take up the most space if you have multiple systems
2. Get a Retron 5. These accept NES, Sega, etc cartridges and are made for HDTV's so the previous issues don't apply. However Everdrives don't work with them so you would need original cartridges for every game you want to play.
3. Get a Wii U. Nintendo has license to Sega games as well as retro NES games. Works perfectly, but you have to buy each game from the online store and the library is limited. Google virtual console library
4. My recommendation. Get a cheap laptop or Raspberry Pi, download emus and roms to it, and hook it up to your tv. If it has a bluetooth receiver there are free programs online to run PS controllers through your computer

This is great info. I will probably do 3 or 4 then. Is there a specific site I should go to for emus and roms if I go the computer route?

I don't see any NES roms on there. Is it the MAME roms?

Is it the MAME roms?
Emuparadise is a good one. You can just google NES Roms.
For emulators,
Fusion for Genesis
fceux for NES
