Need help with just dance now game

I'm buying a apple TV 4 for my son tomorrow and he wants the Just Dance Now game from the App Store that just came out. do you have to dance like the person on the screen is or can you dance anyway you want and that's how it shows on the screen. My son see videos of kids dancing anyway they want and shows the same on the screen and that is what he wants to do on it. I don't he will like it if he has to do what the person does. I know nothing about this and how it works.

The Just dance my kids play does have a "guide" on the screen to follow, but it also reflects how the kids are dancing with smaller figures around the "guide". They can dance however they want, and it will clap for them, and record them and play it back at the end of the song. They just won't get points for staying in motion with the guide.

i bought that game for the wife, i flipped it on to see how bad it was, and "careless Whisper" came on. I flipped it off, and sold it on ebay.
