I'm curious if this stuff goes on much longer, if EA will just randomize all the players and numbers and just release it.

There’s no reason not to at this point

I never bought into the likeness anyway. It was computer-generated characters and they didnt even have names. I could argue the linemen on LSU looked just like the ones on hawaii. And looked just like the ones i would recruit.

Not only that. Outside the skill positions, numbers, heights, and weights were a lot of the time all messed up.

That’s why the operation sports community was so awesome. Some random autist from Ohio could go and correct the Buckeye roster. Then some savant from Nevada could do the same for UNLV

On the part of which party?

A company wants to make as much money as possible by developing and releasing a game. That company believes the game will make more money if it includes the names, images, and likeness of current college football players and coaches. Because they want to make as much money as possible, they want to pay as little as possible to acquire the rights to said NIL.

Some of the people whose NIL would be used are objecting to how little compensation they are being offered, as they believe their NIL is worth far more in added value to the game than they are being offered.

These are business decisions. I don’t understand accusing either side of being “more greedy” than the other, when they both have identical goals: make as much money as possible.

Eta: My post is a commentary of the larger situation. Frankly, I consider this particular suit to be a contract dispute between the agency and the players/universities it claims to represent, not between the agency and EA. Not sure what legal ground they think they have to stand on in this particular tack.

Except EA holds all the leverage and if the game is held up by a lawsuit then everyone loses. So screw whoever is holding up the release of the game. Right or wrong, that’s where I side.

Then it sounds like there's a third group of "greedy" parties: those who want to be able to play the game no matter what. Not really a business decision like the other two, but glad to hear that everyone is acknowledging their self interest in the situation

I really wish the O’Bannon brothers would have been good enough to stick around in the NBA awhile

Get yourself an emulator on your PC and play old NCAAs. I suggest NCAA 06 with the Next mod

How much horsepower and ram does a device need to play these?

Could a surface pro with these specs handle it?

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G4 CPU @ 1.10GHz 1.50 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.60 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

College Football Unleashed needed a pretty good CPU to play.

Obannon ruined everything for pennies for most athletes. Insanity. Though it was a precursor to today's whining athletes who want NIL money etc. Take your free education and learn something valuable or go pro and make yourself valuable.

PS2 emulators probably don’t require much.

RPCS3, PS3 emulator, will require much more horsepower.
