I recently swapped changed my ISP and had and older router laying around at home but every time I get on Xbox live I'm a strict nat type I have it hard wired to the router so thought this was weird I also opened the ports. I'm just going to purchase a new router.im basically asking on advice on which one to buy

Call your service provider. They can open it and it won't cost you a penny.

You could go into your router settings and DMZ your xbox?
