FWIW my Xbox has never been hacked either. This is the first I have heard of any Xbox getting hacked actually.
I have played agianst modders on Xbox. Some admitted and some just my speculation.
There is a difference in modding and hacking for one and again this is the first actual hack I have heard of over Live but it isn't exclusive by any means. I am sure google would allow me to find stories of mods and hacks on both systems.
I am glad Xbox at least has easy way to report the modders and hackers.
This is also another reason to buy a flash drive and back up your files no matter what system you have.
