I've played both Lunars for PS1, but never played the original Sega CD versions. I hope to run across them eventually at a decent price.
Both of those were great and made some improvements in places. I prefer random encounters, which the sega CD versions offer. The one random thing that is weird about the SCD versions, is the fact that all of the text is WRITTEN IN CAPS. It's sort of odd.

And I thought about you recently, as I was able to get a PVM from a guy that I work with. I don't have it up and running yet though. There's quite the learning curve that goes into such a thing. But, I'm definitely looking forward to playing games, as they were intended to look

Which PVM did you get? Mine was easy to hook up, just needed to buy the SCART and BNC breakout cables off of eBay.

PVM-20M2U
Seems easy enough, just need the exact cables that you speak of. I hope I don't have to do too much in the way of tweaking, once everything is connected. Did you have any issues with colors not looking right or anything of that nature?

That's the same model I have, only its an Olympus brand (Sony refurbished).
retro_console_accessories
This eBay store has all the cables you'll need. She will strangely close her store down occasionally when she has to re-stock, so just keep checking.
It also depends on which consoles you're playing too. All of the following can output RGB natively:
SNES (model 1)
Sega Genesis/Master System/CD/Saturn
PS1
Gamecube
Consoles like the NES, N64, and Turbografx-16 will need to be modded if you want them to output RGB.
ETA: I didn't have to really tweak the colors on the monitor at all. I adjusted the brightness slightly, but everything else looked awesome as soon as I powered it on.

That's good to know. And that ebay seller is one of the ones that I was thinking of going through. I'd bascially be doing all/most of the systems that you listed, other than Gamecube (never got one of those for some reason).
Which ones stand out the most, improvement-wise?

So in love with this game. Wish I could have gotten into the sequel. Just a lot of fun and full of personality.
Can't remember if it was the original or sequel but GMG or GoG had it on sale a while back.
LOVED it.

I bought the sequel and tried to get into it like 3 or 4 times. I think I got past the first section with the ninja's like once before giving up. Not sure why it didn't stick.
First game I played through a bunch of times on the PS2.

Then why no remake?! The game was uhhhhhmazing
Can't answer that. But SoM was technically the second game in a trilogy and there are translated roms floating around.
#3 is quite possibly even better than SoM.

Metal Warriors for SNES
Cybernator too
Those two are my go to plays on SNES like Gunstar Heroes is for Genesis.

Wolfenstein The New Order/The Old Blood
The new Wolfenstein games are the best FPS campaigns of this generation imo.
Psi Ops:The Mind Gate Conspiracy on PS2/Xbox
Wish this one had a sequel. I loved the use of traditional weapons with supernatural powers.
