MLB The Show 15: How do you hit the off-speed stuff consistently?

I swear I have gotten worse at this game since I got it. Especially since I have been called up to the majors in RTTS. I can't lay off a changup down and I'm always early. When I try to gear down for the changeup I can't catch up to gas. I've never had this problem. Anyone have some tips to help a guy in a major slump?

Pump up your hitting vision stat. Also your discipline so you get more leeway with checked swings.
I struggle with sinkers more than anything. Some of these assholes throw 90 mph sinkerballs that break like changeups.

I have barely even touched those. Do those stats actually affect the ball?

Best case scenario, Plate Vision allows for more foul tips, Discipline definitely helps you get the checked swing calls. Though I have both at 80, and I still don't get a whole lot of checked swings.
Should note that I'm basically using Pure Analog for hitting.

If a pitcher is throwing a lot of off speed stuff, I'll put my hitting area in the bottom of the zone and leave it there. Then take anything that starts inside the hitting area. Unless it's a fastball of course. It's much easier to identify if you are looking off speed and reacting to fastball. The off speed stuff will drop out of the zone. The down side to this approach is you will have to take any high fast balls bc you are guaranteed to pop it up. If he throws two high fastballs for strikes in a row, leave the hitting zone in the middle and use contact swing to foul anything off until he makes a mistake.
I've used this with success whenever I get in a funk and I'm having trouble identifying pitches. Some guys are just hard to pick up for whatever reason.

I honestly believe a good TV helps a lot. When I went from a 720 to 1080p TV, I could actually see spin on the ball out of the pitcher's hand. I also look for how the ball comes out of his hand and early movement. Some guys with those sinkers that break late like craig said are just really tough. It just comes down to timing. If I have an 0-2 or 1-2 count, I'm always guessing the pitch as a sinker or changeup in the bottom of the zone. Makes fighting them off or taking them a lot easier.

Yep sinkers are the only thing I have trouble with. There are a couple of guys that can start a sinker near the heart of the plate and have it leave the zone by a couple inches. It's crazy

I love a good sinker, I seem to be able to handle them easily getting more HR's off of them than anything else.
Circle changes and Sweeping curveballs however......

I pound the off-speed but can't hit a fastball ANYWHERE other than in right. I'm late as shite everytime on them.

Go play the highest difficulty then bump back to what you would normally play. You'll start seeing more balls pulled

Check your tv settings. If your tv has any kind of motion smoothing settings turn all of that off. Your tv might also have a game mode setting that will disable all of that you could switch it to. I know back when I started playing the show on ps3 (I think it was '12) I couldn't catch up to fastballs and felt like i was late on everything. I read somewhere about the motion smoothing on a lot of tv's causing huge input lag, disabled it on my tv, and then immediately after turning it off I was pulling everything to left field or foul down the left field line.

This is good advice if it pertains to you. My plasma has really bad input lag but if I switch to the PC input it cuts it in over half. The Show was unplayable until I figured that out. You should be able to find how much input lag your TV has from CNET if you know the model number.
