Amazon would be amazing for either platform. What if Amazon ended up getting both and made one super console with upgradeable parts and what not?

It's not news at all actually.

Of course it is. Where there has been lots of smoke there is usually fire. This analyst is just bringing up what everyone said in 2014, wanting to be the first to say it will happen this year.

One of those articles did say that Xbox is in the black now.

I don't see how, the basically gave away the One over the holiday.

Saw it on Reddit. There was a MS powerpoint thing leaked a few months ago about Windows 10 coming to all of their devices including the Xbone and this is apparently the shirt for the MS event on the 21st.

This may eventually happen, but i dont think it will.

Im not sure how going by all the support Microsoft is currently giving xbox and the ceo saying there is no split that that is PR spin especially when the opposing argument is speculation by someone not affiliated with the company

Windows on Xbox will be awesome, UI is where Microsoft blows past Sony (well until the Xbox One that is)

It's gotten better still liked the 360's over it. Windows will change that.

To their defense, they had to change everything at the last minute before release.

As long as they don't announce the return of GFWL

Listening to the CEO or anyone at Microsoft would be foolish, they are obviously not going to say anything, if it were to happen it would just happen one day. It may leak out a few days before an official announcement or something, but MS wouldn't give any indication at all until a deal was pretty much done.

The move to Windows 10 makes it easier to sell off, not the other way around as RTR mentioned.

What some that don't keep up with PC may not know is that Windows 10 is the last major update to the Windows platform, there will not be a Windows 11 or Windows 12, etc, they are from now on just updating Windows 10, this was announced months ago with the Windows 10 announcement.

quote:

But Microsoft went instead with Windows 10 because they wanted to signify that the coming Windows release would be the last "major" Windows update. Going forward, Microsoft is planning to make regular, smaller updates to the Windows 10 codebase , rather than pushing out new major updates years apart. Windows 10 will have a common codebase across multiple screen sizes, with the UI tailored to work on those devices.

This helps them sell the division as the programmers, coders, etc, will be plenty familiar with the Win10 integration going on right now, and knowing there won't be any major updates anymore. Makes it simpler for whoever buys it and takes the team of developers with it.

Whether or not it actually happens who knows, wouldn't be surprising one way or the other.

While it thankfully moves much faster than the ps3's, it is not as organized.
