I've been thinking about buying it but I'm hesitant because I know nothing about the series and haven't played any of the other games. So did you guys enjoy it and feel as though its worth it? It's actually on sale at Bestbuy for 39.99 plus less with GCU.

I'd argue that knowing nothing about the series is a positive.

The game is mostly action oriented and has a weak plot compared to the others. The only disappointment for me is that I expected a more robust story and more variation in environments.

"Men become demons" my arse.

It's light on story so I wouldn't worry about being lost, just watch a recap on YouTube or something. It's a great game that's well worth 39.99 and has some of the best, most refined gameplay out there.

wandering around either the desert or jungle rescuing prisoners is 90% of the game but it's a great engine.

i freaking loved this game but story-wise its a hot mess. youll miss some winks and nods not having played the older titles, but i highly suggest playing Ground Zeros before V. it has all the backstory and context for Vs story.

The gameplay is awesome, the design is dreadful. $40 is definitely worth it.

I liked it but haven't finished it. A lot of the same thing over and over again.

I'll probably go back again and pick it up. Leveling is addictive. If I had more time I would have finished it.
