FTL is a good iPad game and time waster.

ETA: good on pc as well. It’s not just a mobile game. Subnautica and hearts of iron iv come to mind as well.

If you have an ipad, there is a full version of Star Wars KOTOR that is excellent and only $9.99. No corners cut to put in on iPad. The only iffy part is the controls for the small racing mini-game

I’m 350% confident you can play the campaign offline. I tried it last night to make sure.

This will be no surprise if you pay attention to my avi and sig pic, but either Skyrim or Fallout 4 would be perfect time wasters for a long flight. I'd suggest Fallout 3 or New Vegas but getting them to run well (or at all) on Windows 10 takes a bit of work. New Vegas actually runs fine minus a few hiccups.

If you're into card games, which I'm not, I've heard a LOT of great stuff about Inscryption which is only $20 on steam.

Obviously this thread could just become a "what are your favorite games of the last two decades" thread, but I'll try to be a bit more on point:

You're on an airplane. You're surrounded by people in a small, enclosed space. You'll be interrupted fairly consistently. People will look at your screen. So for me, I would scratch anything that has overtly violent or sexual content. I would scratch anything that is going to be graphically intensive such that it's going to make my device run super hot/make my fans scream. I would scratch anything that is overly difficult/requires very precise mouse skills.

So, with all of that said, Stardew Valley and Rimworld are good options. I would add both Ori games (bring an Xbox controller for added comfort). RTS campaigns like Age of Empires II: DE or Crusader Kings II/III. I'm not up on turn based strategy, but those would be great options as well. Puzzlers like Portal I/II, Gris, etc would be good choices.

My actual game recommendations aren't important, but those would be my personal considerations in choosing which games to play.

A flight to Eastern Europe might get him through the preseason fixtures . I never had a game make me go "what time is it?!?" more than FM. What a great game

I would recommend shadow tactics: blades of the shogun. turn based game so not hard to pause whenever you feel like it

Also it fits all the reasons he listed above
