This reminds me of when a couple gets divorced and then both rush to see who can get re-married first.

ETA: It is interesting how the importance of the original creator's involvement varies across franchises.

Hideo Kojima isn't involved? Not interested.
George Lucas isn't involved? Very interested.

You forget the part where Kojima did not shite the bed on the last 3 games. Then remasters his first 3 and adds cheese.

Oh, I know. I just think it's interesting. There was a time when I would have said a non-George Lucas Star Wars wasn't really Star Wars, but that is exactly how I feel about Metal Gear.

I suppose if it comes out and gets amazing reviews from people I trust, I might give it a shot but it will feel a little wrong, considering how Konami has treated Kojima.

My money is on it being more like Metal Gear Rising than Metal Gear Solid

Not sure if I'm interested in Kojima outside of Metal Gear and I'm damn sure uninterested in Metal Gear sans-Kojima.

MGSV didn't really deliver on his Men Become Demons plot promises, so I was ready to hang it up after that anyways.

Mechanically, MGS V was top notch, but I wish that the rift hadn't begun to form creating a rushed environment which ultimately made the game feel half baked.
