Don't apologize. We will help you if you want to buy/build something. This boards PC people are pretty good about not letting people get fricked on deals like that.
This is about what he would be selling you and the card I out in this is actually better than the one he is using. Not to mention that the parts I picked out are probably better quality. Just to show you how much of a rip off that is.

Got plenty of savings but I'm gona wait until mid Feb. If I get my new job it comes with a pretty hefty bonus. I want to spend around 1500 and get the most out of every penny.

$1500 for everything with mouse, keyboard, and monitor or $1500 for the tower only? Either way you can get a very nice set up for $1500 if you build it yourself and take the advice from people here.

lol markup. $1300 for that crap. Overhead must be expensive for those local shops. I've seen similar horrible deals advertised around here.

40% is typical. But for specialty items like "gaming" computers it ends up being closer to 70.

They have 4 stores, but its a military area so im sure they get lots of young dumb customers. They do offer free estimates and diagnosis so I might actually take my ipod there car wont detect it any more
